I’m planning on majoring in political science/neuroscience. Please add any comments. Thanks =)

yeh i guess, i don’t really compete when it comes to the cello, and piano competitions higher than the state level somehow end up during the month of AP exams…

hey, please go rd so less stellar people, like myself, have a shot at ed? you have a more than guaranteed chance at rd, compared to others’ resumes… so please, help a brother out!

erm… sry, just a wanderer on the forums looking up possible RD choices, heh

I think u stand a great chance, miamigrl! Intel 9-12! science fairs look really good on apps, so i would even put that in bold. Can you send a cd of music to JHU? Cuz i play the piano too (self taught for the past two years).

thanx for the comment kayoshin, and yes u can send a cd to JHU but I didn’t bother to since piano is such a common instrument. On the other hand, if you’re an awesome pianist and you’ve only been playing for two years, then go for it.

miami, how much aid are you applying for?
you know what shez applying to a different major than i am. this could mean that she might be considered in a different pool of applicants. if this is not so, i am so doomed. then i should reccomend miami applying to an ivy. really my friend got into princeton with a 1480. she wasn’t even involved in so many activities.

Arseus: i’m actually not applying for aid, i don’t think I’ll even get any from jhu since i’ve heard their financial aid packages aren’t that great, plus my parents’ incomes don’t show that i need aid. Do you think it helps in the admissions process if I don’t need aid from the school? what major are you applying to btw?

abrandel05: i think the atmosphere of jhu impressed me the most out of all the colleges i visited and it’s obviously one of the best schools for research, which as you can see, i’m very involved with. I’m thinking of applying to some ivies as well (cornell, brown, princeton (maybe), darthmouth, along with georgetown, mit, duke), but I’m still nervous about jhu. I know so many well-rounded students with great SAT scores who were rejected…

ya but i think you will be fine. I might consider applying as a non-science major (Poli sci works, especially since they are great at it) and then you can do whatever you want when you get there. I really do you think you have as good a shot as any candidate at basically any of the schools you mentionted (although obviously its impossible to say about princeton) I cant imagine you really getting rejected anywhere, you are pretty much an ideal candidate

Are you also the shortstop for the boston red sox? You have such a long list of ECs and your grades are so great…it makes me think you are superwoman…GREAT work so far…now make sure you communicate who you REALLY are and WHY JHU is your first choice.

miamigrl- you forgot to mension the fact you are noble peace prize winner, daughter of the president, and a movie start. Honestly, i think you have half of what you just spit out. Why would somebody that is “1/400”, 1470 SAT have to ask???
