Chances for Midd?

Male, Caucasian, wealthy area, high income family no need for financial aid.

High school is prestegious, public, sends about 30 kids out of 500 to really good schools eac year. Ex. this year 3 kids went to princeton, 2 to yale, 1 to brown, one to stanford, 2 to duke, etc. Unranked. Took all honors and AP courses during high school, struggled with the math and science classes but excelled at English and History. Sat has been taken twice, first time 2140 with a 710 CR, 690 M, 740 W. Second time 2170 with a 720 CR, 760 M, and a 690 W. Superscored thats a 1480/2220. Have multiple EC’s including constant community service. My hook would be that with any luck I will be a recruited athlete, as I already plan on visiting for prospective athlete weekend and applying early. Already, my times (swimming) are on par with those of the fastest 5 or 6 guys on the team. Do I have a chance?

bumpity bump. COME ON PEOPLE.

To be honest, if your parents are that wealthy. I guess they should be able to pull some strings so you can get into the college of your choice.

honestly? ******* move. Neither my parents nor grandparents went anywhere prestegious. I ask for help and you proceed to insult me based on financial lines? WHat gives you the right to judge me based on what my parents income is?

Pumpkins, that was a really ignorant statement. Just because his family makes enough money to not have to apply for financial aid for college doesn’t mean that they can “pull some strings” for their kid to get accepted. The only way to do that is if his parents were rich and could donate a $5M library. Do you know that around half of the students at top schools pay full tuition? Are you saying all these thousands of people pulled strings to get in?

Anyway, good chances at Middlebury. You CR and W scores are at the high end of the middle 50% and your M score is higher.

What other schools are you looking at? What do you plan on majoring in?

Looking at BU and Texas A&M. Really banking on Midd. Want to study Political Science, with an east asian/ international relations conecentration focusing on Japan.
