Also write killer essays because they play a big role.

Scores are fine, grades are fine, but ECs seem to lack depth. Essays could be make or break.

Well, I am OS, from Long Island, NY to be specific.

But here’s some more stuff for the EC’s:
National Honor Society-Not much to really say here, just met the requirements in my school to join.

Key Club-Have been a member since 10th grade, volunteering club.

Interact-Have been a member since 9th grade, volunteering club.

Boy Scouts-Have been a member since 9th grade, working on Eagle Scout project now.

Volunteering in free time-Volunteering at the local YMCA this year and last year. Here, I help run an afterschool program for elementary kids. First we do is homework help, and then we do activities with the kids, usually sports.

Summer Program in Engineering at University of Maryland (2009)-10-Day program by the NSLC (National Student Leadership Conference) focusing on engineering.

Summer Program in Robotics at WPI (2010)-10-Day program run by WPI focusing on robotics.

Also, I am a part of my school’s asian club, spanish club, and computer club. But all three of those are really just social things, although we do volunteer sometimes, especially in the first two.
