<p>Don’t really know much about admissions stats but I’m positive u’d b able to get in to berkeley</p>

<p>Columbia University - slight reach
Georgetown University EA - match
Harvard University - slight reach
MIT EA - match because of female AND URM status
NYU Stern - safe match
Northwestern University - match
UC Berkeley - safe match
U Chicago EA - slight reach because uchicago is pretty eccentric in the admissions process, and i have no idea how you will come off in your essays.
U Penn Wharton - slight reach</p>

<p>you seem like a truly outstanding applicant who made the most of what you have, and I think you have an outstanding shot at all the schools you listed. I’m no professional, but I would not be surprised at all if you got into all the schools you listed. I’m only saying “slight reach” because nothing is really definite in college admissions.</p>

<p>Excellent shot at all of them.</p>

<p>youre in at MIT- Puerto Rican female with a 2200, cant get much better than that.</p>

<p>ill try to give my chances though, even though i think you have a great shot at all, admissions can be a crapshoot.</p>

<p>Columbia- slight reach
GTown EA- safe match/match
Harvard- slight reach
MIT- match/slight reach
NYU Stern- safe match
Northwestern- match
UCB- match
UChicago EA- match

Harvard University- slight match
MIT EA- match
NYU Stern- safe match
Northwestern University- strong match
UC Berkeley- match-safety(is there AA at UC’s?)
U Chicago EA- safe match
U Penn Wharton- match</p>

<p>Of course with all this, the process is highly random and there’s always the chance of being rejected. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were accepted everywhere.</p>

<p>750 Math, 730 Critical Reading, 740 Writing does not add up to 2200, it adds up to 2220, how can someone get a 750 and 800 on SAT math and not be able to do simple math?</p>

<p>Actually, my math skills are fine :), it’s a typo. Thanks to everyone who have actually given me their opinions on my chances, rather than insulting me.</p>

<p>no AA at UCs</p>

<p>Okay, then I would say UCB is a match. hope07, don’t worry, I make those typos all the time. 2220 and 2200 can trick you up when typing fast.</p>

<p>Hmmm. Personally 2200 is not so impressive. It is in fact quite an average score for an applicant to schools like Harvard and MIT. I don’t see many outstanding extracurriculars. Personally, I would call a lot of those schools (Harvard, MIT) reaches. Puerto Rican may help in college admissions, but would it really help that much? I am sorry if I sound harsh, but most people with stats like yours do not get into Harvard or MIT. AA won’t make up for that incredible gap between UC Berkeley and Harvard, Wharton, MIT, and Columbia.</p>

<p>What about the fact that she is first generation and low income? If you look at the school and her background, she has not been given all the opportunities like all the other over-achievers.</p>

<p>Read this, from 2005:
"In looking at the San Francisco school district, the report compared the salaries of teachers at Mission High, a struggling school in the center of the city, and at Washington High, a higher-performing school in the Richmond District.
African American and Latino students make up 67.4 percent of Mission’s student body, compared to 12.6 percent of Washington’s. At Mission, 75.4 percent of students are so poor they qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, compared to 36.7 percent at Washington.
On the state’s Academic Performance Index, which is based on standardized tests and runs from 200 to 1,000 with 800 considered excellent, Mission scores 576 and Washington 781.
Still, Mission gets “far fewer experienced, well-educated and consequently well-paid teachers” than Washington, according to the report. A Mission teacher earns, on average, $9,901 less each year than one at Washington. "</p>

<p>Given this background, I think she has performed quite well in comparison to everyone else at her high school. Colleges DEFINITELY take this into account when looking at applicants. I think you were too quick to judge, fastMEd.</p>
