I attend a private all-girls Catholic school. I know my ECs are weak but I address that in my college essay.

Your Math SAT score is a bit weak, but since you have a very ethnically different background you will stand out. Perhaps it you have not written all of your essays yet then discuss your background. Also do not make your essay completely about addressing your faults, because they want to know what it good and unique about you. They would have already noticed your faults. You probably could have taken a couple more challenging classes (but I suppose drama got in the way a bit). In all a good application depending on quaility of essays (which ought to be good based on your CR and WR scores) and teacher recs. Good Luck!

I sent in my application a couple of weeks ago, so it’s too late to change anything now. When you say I could have taken more challenging classes, do you mean I should have taken more AP classes? My school is pretty rigorous, so few people graduate having taken more than 5 APs. Although now that you have said not to completely address my faults in my essay, I’m feeling paranoid…would anyone be willing to read it and give me their input?

I would not mind reading it (I proofread my friends essays to W&M because I had already gotten in ED). With the harder classes comment I was also talking about honors and Dual Credits. It is just that most seniors have their course load packed with weighted classes which would help your GPA. Did you make your Supp essay unique and about you? The main thing they are looking for is students who stand out with creativity. Do not worry about it too much, there are plenty of other schools that are just as good.

That’s nice to hear, although on my application I only put the Philippines as my family’s place of origin and I didn’t indicate that I’m partly Chinese. I hope that doesn’t affect my chances too much.

Good for you. That should give you some points in today’s world, more if you’re Hindu or aetheist, perhaps?

Sorry, not meaning to shoot the messenger. This silliness is so absurd though, and I resent that I never got any extra credit because my grandpa was a cowboy and my great great uncle rode with the Hole In the Wall Gang. If they’re willing to give you points, take 'em and go get 'em. Seriously, good luck. ;)

Why should Mary n Bill not reside in the theater of the absurd, too. All in the token name game of diversity.
