EC’s nothing really major or outstanding just a couple sports and part time jobs and volunteer work totaling like 200hrs

also i interviewed there and am thinking of applying ED what are my chances if i apply ED and how do they change with RD

3 times on the SAT is fine (and your score is very solid too). Definitely not an issue.

I don’t think the SAT IIs play a big role, but those definitely won’t hurt you.

Your essays will be important. I think the ECs are a little on the weak side, but quality essays will more than make up for it.

I don’t think ED v. RD makes too much of a difference, but if you’re sure you would like to come, applying ED can’t hurt you.

You didn’t say if you’re instate or not, so i’ll assume you’re out of state. I’d say you have a good chance with quality essays out of state. If you’re instate, your chances are better.

yea im out of state so u dont think that W&M looks at SATIIs or that mine or average so they wont play much a role

Hi!
So which state/region is your HS? What rank are you [or general rank].

Your last SAT I score is fine.

SAT IIs are not required, so they are probably not considered too important.

Applying ED clearly boosts your chances and would make up for any weak application sections.

Good luck!
The Tribesman

i go to school in NY but my school does not rank but if they did i would figure that i am somewhere between 5-10 out of roughly 250-300

Your estimated rank is excellent!

I think you will have a good chance of getting accepted.

If you have any questions about W&M, feel free to ask anytime.

Good luck!

well, I was instate, but I can tell you that my non math SAT IIs were significantly lower than yours (I took them all on the same day with no prep etc etc).

if anything those are good scores and they will help your app.

make sure you do the “optional” do anything with one side of a 8.5x11 paper prompt.

i got a question about the business school do u get admitted when u apply or do u have to reapply after sophmore year(i think that its this one) if it is how hard is it to gain admission to the businesss school and what happens if u get rejected…thanks

Everyone at W&M enrolls at the College of Arts and Sciences. After you are enrolled, you can apply to the School of Business. You need to take some prerequisite classes at W&M, though, before you can officially apply to the School of Business. These include Principles of Accounting and Business Statistics which are actually Business school classes. Most students take Accounting and Stats their Sophomore year. Intro to Micro and Intro to Macro Economics are a few other prereqs which are in the Economics Dept [of the College of A&S].

The minimum requirements are pretty low to get acepted into the Bunsiness School’s Major tract. I suppose if you have like as 2.0 GPA and you don’t get accepted, then you can always reapply later or major in Economics.

You should be able to get more detailed info from the Undergrad School of Business’ website.

The Business School is good; the Accounting Dept is outstanding.

No problem. My pleasure.

Good luck!

how much weight is put on the interview

I believe that most applicants do not have an interview.

Sorry if I missed this, but - are you a guy or a girl? My understanding is that W & M would like to adjust the lopsided girl-guy student ratio, and that being male would be something of a plus.

Even if you don’t have a Y chromosome, your profile is similar to kids from our NY hs who’ve been admitted. ED couldn’t hurt! And I think that soccerguy is right - make yourself stand out with that optional essay.

My oldest d just graduated and had a great 4 years there. Good luck!

i am a male and will probably apply ED i have my fingers crossed
