What are some fun things to do here at UVA and Charlottesville in the summer? I’ll be staying here for some time and it would be great to hear from anyone who stayed here for the summer.

Make sure you get housing with air conditioning. It can get humid.

It will definitely be hot and humid. We jokingly say the weather forecasting is pretty easy in the summer, “Hazy, hot and humid, chance of thunderstorms. High in the 90s.”

Things to do:
- Visit Monticello, Ash Lawn, Montpelier and Michie Tavern
- Go to Sugar Hollow
- Visit Walnut Creek, Chris Greene Lake and Mint Springs. You can swim, take advantage of hikes and biking trails.
- Hike Humpback Rock, Old Rag, the AT, Ivy Creek, Kemper Park/Saunders-Monticello Trail
- Canoe the Rivanna or James or tube on the James.
- Go to Millers and hear world class jazz.
- Fridays after Five
- Visit the art galleries
- Take advantage of the Corner and Downtown area with less traffic:).

I could go on and on, but those are a few of the things my family does.

I’m pretty sure UVa students still get free admission to Monticello with current ID. A new museum was added there a few years ago.
