G/T AP Physics
GT WHAP
APUSH
AP Psychology
V Tennis
V Tennis
G/T Language Arts 2
G/T Algebra 2
That’s my tentative schedule currently for sophomore year. However, there are courses I can replace some classes. 4 APs is a given tho, I’m not changing that and sports/fine arts is double blocked at my school.
Question, is AP Stats harder or easier than APUSH if I take it concurrently with Algebra 2? I have no problems with reading(actually love history), but if Stats is easier…
Question, I have a friend whose brother took APUSH and GT WAP and did well, what should I know if I do both together? Any strategies?
Question, Envi Sci is harder than Physics in my school cause teachers, but in your experience how was if?
If there is anything you want to ask or any questions for me, go right ahead
Hi! I’m a current sophomore here, and your schedule looks good! I have no idea what G/T stands for though - is it like Honors? I’m doing AP Physics 1 next year, so I don’t have a lot of experience with it, but it definitely has a reputation for being more rigorous than Environmental. APWH and APUSH in the same year? Do you like history & have experience writing DBQs? If you took the PSAT this year, did you score well on EBRW? If you really like history and are maybe considering a career in it, you can probably handle APUSH and APWH, but make sure to practice some DBQs this summer (if you haven’t already) to get an advantage. I’m not much of an AP history person, so I can’t tell you much else about those though. If you didn’t take Honors Algebra 1 the learning curve will be a lot harder at the beginning of the year for Honors Alg2, but don’t be discouraged - I was in that situation and I’m getting a lot better grades now. (Let me know if you ever need help with algebra 2, by the way). If you’re generally a strong math student, you’ll probably do well in Stats, but I’m not super familiar with the class so you might want to check the CB course description to see if there are any prerequisites that aren’t included in algebra 2. It also really depends on the class’ reputation at your school - at mine, it’s known for being a kind of hard but really fun class, but your school might be different. Good luck!
Hey there! I am in Honors Alg. 2 and I have several friends taking AP Stats concurrently. They seem to be getting As in the class, so I would not consider it difficult to do. I don’t think taking APUSH and Stats together would be hard. If you include all of the other classes you’re taking, then it may get harder. AP Environmental at my school is mostly taken by juniors and seniors, but they seem to enjoy it. They don’t think it’s really that hard. It’s actually renowned as an easier AP. Hope this helped.
I don’t see how you can enroll in AP Physics if you are taking Algebra 2. I am assuming that GT WHAP is AP World History. If so, taking it and APUSH is a recipe for disaster. Have you taken an AP class? Also, I see no foreign language. Why? You should at a minimum replace AP Physics with normal or honors Chem and APUSH with a Foreign Language.
@hsstudent13 Sorry, I messed up lol. It’s GT Honors. In my school, there’s regular, honors, and honors GT. You have to be in GT to take GT classes. Some GT classes have better teachers, that’s why I might take GT WHAP, GT Physics…I love history(I love history and LA), and I am gonna practice DBQS def. In my school, Envi sci is harder than Physics according to the current sophomores. I got a 630 on the EBRW section.
@Eeyore123 In my school you can. I have a friend whose brother pulled it off and I love reading, history, and writing. Yeah I took AP hug this year and I have a 95 average. In my school, we can take courses over the summer at a community college and I plan on taking Spanish 3 over the summer and stopping because I’m not very good and Spanish over the summer is easier. I hate science classes, taking Physics only cause my school is very very competitive and AP bio and AP envi sci are both harder. Thx for input tho
