Chem 2 Lab at SJR or UNF?

hi there. i’m trying to make a decision about chem 2 lab. i currently go to usf and didnt get into chem 2 lab for next semester. i’m considering just taking it at either St John’s River or UNF over the summer (i’m from jacksonville, clearly). wondering which school i should take it at… is it true that sjr would be easier? or should I go with UNF because they might have better resources? does anyone have experience with chem2 lab at either school? any and all advice is appreciated. i have spoken with my academic advisor already and he said either school is fine. also considering FSCJ, if that might be better? i have checked with every school and they all have it this summer, so all of the technicalities are worked out.

Do Florida public universities have a summer session requirement? If so, you may want to take that course and enough other courses at a qualifying school for that requirement.

they do BUT i plan to go abroad for my summer requirement in summer 2021 (already cleared with advisor), so this is simply a question of staying on track with my degree program!! thanks tho

If you are going to take summer courses anyway, you may want to do that in a way that fulfills the summer requirement, in case your summer abroad later does not happen for any unanticipated reason (e.g. cost does not work out, medical issues, violent political instability in the other country, you get a summer job related to your major and career goals that is more attractive than the summer abroad, etc.).

@ucbalumnus thank you, my parents made this exact point earlier today :’) ! would you recommend unf or sjr (state college)? not sure of your familiarity with either

Do both qualify for the summer session requirement?

Do both offer enough other summer courses of interest?

Is cost significantly different?

@ucbalumnus yes and yes. the cost is the same because of the Florida Bright Futures scholarship that I have (Florida Lottery covers 100% of college tuition, including one summer semester, and books).

If USF will take the credits from either, go to the one that is more convenient to you (schedule, location, parking?)

@twoinanddone they are the EXACT same distance from my house AND schedules are pretty much the same :’) ahhhh
