perhaps to get it to uchicago faster, you might be able to fax the recommendation forms?

Faxing would be very convenient but I don’t know if they’ll accept that

well, in the chicago account it says that missing forms can be faxed. i would double check with your admissions rep.

@resolutely: When I go to the check credentials page on my Chicago account, it just says “your application is complete”. I’m not sure how it looks like if something is missing though…

^That’s what it says for me too - all complete.

got the COMPLETE email today ftw

o i see thanks! oh dear, mine still leads to the prospective students page, there’s nothing about any application whatsoever. but i suppose if they’ve sent a confirmation email, there shouldn’t be anything to fret over?

anyhow this is quite tangential- are any of you applying to berkeley?

^That was going to be my number 2 school till I found out that I couldn’t get much financial aid. May I ask, though, how that is related to this thread?

I too received the completed application email, today :)

Chicago says they’re missing my transcript but they have my secondary school report and the two were in the same envelope. I talked to my GC and he said that the transcript might not have been processed. Do you think he’s right? I mean, why would Chicago bother to send out these emails if they haven’t finished processing all the materials. Then again, how would they lose the transcript?

@PBush Same here!My SSR and Transcripts are all in one packet…The list says I’m missing the transcript=_=

I think they’re just missiing…So I told my school to get ready to resend them…agrrrr

I really wanted to apply to Berkeley but my parents said it was too far away :/

Don’t fret Litlhurry! We still have…Penn State :(. I got my acceptance from there today and just thought, why can’t this be my UChicago acceptance letter :(.

Awww, motion…don’t feel down.If it’s yours, the offer will come to you from UofC! Just cheer up and be optimistic, thinking:well at least I have a not too horrible back-up… Like,I myself don’t even have a school to let me attend, yet~…and I’m still breathing normally- -

Err,as for UC’s …I’m determined not to apply to any school in CA=_+~ not for any particular reason though. XD

Hey Resolutely, I’ll be applying to UC Berkeley (and 3 or 4 other UC’s as well), though I’d definitely prefer certain private schools to our state’s increasingly-costly and overstuffed system. I feel like UChicago is such a unique school that it really attracts a certain type of person and dissuades a certain other type of kids (these are really abstract categories, of course, so one may interpret these in any way). In any case, I’ve seen rejections for many many things, and in the end we may only focus on our successes rather than our failures.

BTW, GatitaZ, do you attend an international school in Shanghai? Perhaps SAS? I’ve got friends there. I really like Shanghai, btw, and I’ll probably going in February to catch the end of the Lantern festival in Yuyuan and maybe check out some of the stuff on Huaihai Road

@ hollow

lol, nope,I go to a regular Chinese high school, with an international/mainly Korean department in which I am not.I know some friends from SAS though.Did you attend that school before?~ Ha,glad that you like the city.Oh yes,Huaihai Road is neat with fashions and stuff. And if you like delicacies,Xujiahui will be a good choice.Or maybe I just personally like there.Latern Festival!HAha,I bet there‘s gonna be quite a crowd, but it’s The place to go for the event. Have fun if you make the trip here!

Randomly,GOOD LUCK to ALL!
Ok,I need get started on other applications…so not motivated.

@hollow: you’re from california? and yeah i agree about the chicago uniqueness thing but i think your last line is important… it’s not the end of the world if one doesn’t get into the school he/she desires.

@gatitaz: i love shanghai!! esp the food- i can’t remember what’s the place called, but there’s this three storey place that sells xiaolongbao, and the price differs according to which level you eat it on? LOVE. i hope that one day il get to live in shanghai (or beijing) for a while i know what you mean about staring about the other apps… i’m so lazy :

@motion12345: o i see. it’s tangential; not actually relevant i guess, but i just wanted to see who else was doing so! chic’s my first choice, of course, but the berkeley’s deadline the 30th of this month, so.

@litlhurry: is chicago your furthest school then? the east is full of nice places too! and yay chicago opens up all the midwest :)

@ resolutely: Yay^^i think the place your are talking about is in Yuyuan Garden.haha,I like xiaolongbao and tangbao (bigger than xiaolongbao but has “soup” in it)~it’d be terrific if you get to live here sometime!haha,i can be your tour guide if possible.hm…about those other applications, thanks for understanding!lol and it’s getting real cold,so i wanna hybernate. XD r u from CA?

@motion12345 and @resolutely:my friend from middle school is applying to UC B,though.she almost forgot the deadline’s like ten days away…poor kid.

and I agree Chicago does attract a certain type of kids!um,well…however, now i’m thinking about applying to JHU…anyone’s planning alike? lol another tangential question regarding this thread

@ hollow: hey I’m from SAS! haha Do you go to a Chinese international school too?

Oh! I’ve been to Yuyuan Garden!
