I’m making chicken wings and legs to take with me to eat Saturday lunch. I’m making them at home, and taking to the cottage. It only has a window air conditioner and the oven makes it terribly hot, so I try to make everything I can here.
I bake my wings for 1.5 hours (with seasoning), then an additional 30 minutes with my barbecue mixture.
Should I just bake with seasonings and refrigerate at that point, go ahead and put the barbecue sauce on at the cottage? Or should I do the whole thing at home and just heat up there?
I’m not the best cook, but I love chicken wings. My go to is to put them in the crock pot with my fav barbecue sauce, and let cook. Sometimes I’ll add onions, carrots and potatoes.
So, I’d cook completely, and then reheat at the cottage.
Thanks, I was running out of time and decided just to refrigerate. I’ll do the last half hour with the barbecue sauce. (It’s actually 1/3 bbq, 1/3 soy sauce, 1/3 honey. I might put some hot sauce on a few.
Just be sure they are fully cooked before stopping at any point. You don’t want uncooked chicken sitting for a couple days!
If you like them crispy I would have done all at home and then reheated which would probably crisp them more - serve with additional sauce on the side.
The title of your post illustrates the importance of punctuation! If you had not used a comma, we’d all be wondering what questions chicken wings could possibly have.
Use the microwave. My mother makes fantastic teriyaki chicken wings in the microwave oven, using the low and slow method. 30 minutes or less and done!!!
