Chinese Thread

so whatis cuus?

it’s a forum like that except you can type chinese and discuss with students in china, how did your finals go :)

Why would you want to go to Hong Kong for school? I went there a couple times and the air smelled so bad. The fact they tried to deport me for having an expired passport didnt endear them to me either.

sympathy…

i heard this place let us internationals trade stocks and other financial instruments

My son’s goal is to get an MBA and then an LLD. He feels that doing his undergrad work in China will put him in an excellent position to deal with the world as it will most lilely exist twenty or thirty years from now.

cuus.cn crashed again! I can’t get in…

u guys are so diligent… i havent been to this site for a month… yet the post keeps going and going

diligent as in posting?

BTW i gonna try to get the 1988th post :)

does anybody feel,at certain times, that they really REALLY want to go back to china?not just ot visit, but to stay.i’m going through that weird phase right now and it’s causing me to zone out at random times during class.

OK I’M GETTING THE 1987th POST THEN.

Good point … Happy New Year everyone :)

yes. van. i know what you are talking about. i don’t even think i can go home this weekend…too much crap to do

gosh. i miss chinese FOOD so darn much

van-
i had almost identical feeling these days. i feel that i am currently really ignoring a part of myself by leaving behind all the memories and experiences in china. well, no time for nostalgia…sigh…happy new year to all and hope we can all find some warmth in this thread in the passed a year and so :)

btw, memoirs of the geisha and brokeback moutains are out, any one seen it yet?

i already saw memoirs of a geisha.it was ok,but not as good as the book.you should REALLY read the book.
I MISS CHINA.i miss the whole asian culture, the kawaii trends and karaoke and FOOD and pop music and what not.i think we’re all ignoring a part of ourselves here.for me,it just keeps popping me and making me ask myself:do i really belong here?i think i’m having an identity crisis.i’m a little of american,a lot of chinese, and a little bit of singaporean.people usually think it’s good to be diversified but sometimes i wonder…

Ill be going back to China over the summer. Time to big out ^^. Probably will be visiting relatives and all that boring stuff. Can’t really think of much to do there since i dont like the pop culture. I prefer music that i can’t understand like Japanese, Korean or Spanish for that matter. Probably just going to watch those soup opera on TV. They are quite addictive. Chinese TV is so much better than the junk i get in NJ.

Im looking more towards staying in Japan with some relatives for awhile. Always nice to see different cultures. Plus sushi and anime sounds like fun :P

i remember when i just came here a few years back, i felt SO alienated and depressed everytime i saw anything that reminded me of home. when i saw the first chunjielianhuanwanhui (sp? yes, my pinyin sucks now shamefully) that my family borrowed on tape here (exactly 5 yrs ago almost…wow. time flies), i was so indescribably overwhelmed…with exhilaration and tears almost at the same time.
well, this is sorta how i dealt with it. whenever i thought about how much i’ve missed at home, how much i’ve sarcrificed for what i have now, i motivate myself to work harder to make the best out of my present situations just to make up for what i missed. (of course it didn’t always work, but i’m sure van, you are much more self-diciplined than i am. see if this helps)

anyways. Happy New Year everyone!

did anyone go back to china the summer b4 college freshman?

i got to write a folktale for my final, anyone have some idea they always wanted to share?
