How did you approach these 2 questions without repetition? These seem very similar.
- How do you imagine engaging and contributing to school life at Choate?
- Based on your research, why does Choate feel like the right community for you?
Two sides of the same coin. My child did not apply to Choate, but it is clear to me that the first question is asking what YOU are bringing to the party (sell yourself). The second question is why do you want to attend THIS particular party (do your school research here).

Ah, that’s a great explanation, thank you. This seems to be a ‘Why us’ essay separated into two questions. Typically why us is answered by connecting your passions to what the school offers.
