I know it’s a bit late to offer advice to CCMystic, and people have written about this before, but when I was choosing between Andover and Exeter (way back in the horse and buggy days) I had a difficult time deciding which school to attend, even though I am a legacy at Andover. I made my decision largely based on a phone conversation I had with my father’s old house counselor, and former Dean of Students, at Andover. He went to Exeter and taught at Andover, so I thought he would be able to give me some insight into both schools. He told me that Andover is stronger in the arts, social sciences, and humanities, while Exeter is stronger in math and science. That sealed the deal for me (along with Andover not having a dress code beyond being “clean and neat”), and I chose Andover. Not sure about Exeter, but he was absolutely spot on about Andover. As far as Milton, I don’t know much about it, but it is a highly regarded school. For me, I’m sure I would have been happy at Exeter if I had chosen to go there, but I absolutely loved my time at PA and looking back I can’t imagine having gone anywhere else.
