I am on a quest for the best chunky peanut butter. Any recommendations?

JIff, extra chunky, or super chunky? I’m too lazy to go to the pantry. But Jiff. Not overly sweet, tastes like peanuts. :D

Adams Crunchy No-Stir!

JIF Chunky/Crunchy!

Fresh ground honey roasted peanuts from the bulk area in Whole Foods.

'Nother vote for JIF.

And don’t bother getting the ‘low-fat’ stuff…a)it’s terrible, b)it isn’t peanut butter but a peanut-tasting concoction of junk.

If I have to buy a “store” brand, I buy JIF as well.

Choosy mothers choose Jif.

Did a side-by-side taste test of the 3 major brands years ago, and Skippy was the clear winner.

I’m so glad to see another Skippy fan. We used Jif for years. Then one day on a whim I bought Skippy and the whole family agreed it was both peanuttier and chunkier.

Skippy often tastes rancid to me. Jif tastes much better.

We always get Smuckers Natural chunky but not all stores may carry it. (Smuckers has a search engine to help locate those stores.) The only downside is that it separates and you have to mix it.

The bottom line is: Look at the ingredients - there should only be peanuts and salt and no other added stuff or it just isn’t healthy. I’m guessing that Jif and Skippy have a laundry list of added ingredients. We go with Trader Joe’s crunchy and it’s under $2.00 a jar!

Skippy???

JIf Superchunk! Yep. ;)

My entire life I’ve been a Skippy fan. I love – absolutely love – their Super Chunky pb. I eat it in sandwiches, in celery, with apple wedges.

I tried Jif once and found it too sweet for my taste.

Here are Skippy’s ingredients: http://www.peanutbutter.com/nutrion_chunk.html

Am I the only Peter Pan fan? I don’t eat the chunky, though - just the regular.

Smuckers or Teddie’s. Jif, Skippy, Peter Pan are all too sweet and lard-like for me.

Jif, cuz nobody makes peanut butter like mom. ;)

I hope you guys know I’m just kidding around. Sort of.

I was thinking about starting a thread: Hellman’s or Miracle Whip?

Another Skippy fan here…don’t know if the kids have even ever tasted Jif!

@Poetgrl - um…neither!

I didn’t know so many people has such strong feeling about their peanut butter. I buy Simply Jif usually since I think it has less sugar. They don’t seem to complain. We don’t use much peanut butter now that the kids are older.Though H bought a jar to take snowboarding this week. Peanut butter sandwiches on white bread are the lunch on the mountain. I can remember when the kids were younger buying it at Costco but now I think one small container sits for months in the cupboard. H likes the Trader Joe’s brand but the kids never liked the natural style.
When I eat PB I like creamy. The kids and H like chunky. The rats didn’t seem to have a preference. (H used to set the rat traps in our old house with PB)
