Chunkiest (most chunky?) peanut butter?

I love Teddie Super Chunky. It’s the only peanut butter I’ve used in years. Ingredients are simply peanuts and salt. The flavor is really great, and so is the texture. it must have something to do with how they roast and grind the nuts.

It is also the only “natural” peanut butter I’ve ever really liked. I use it because it’s delicious, not because it’s healthy. That’s just a bonus.

Kroger natural chunky peanut butter. Nothing but peanuts and salt and the price is reasonable!

I like the jif extra crunchy, and the smooth peter pan-- when I was a kid my mom used to buy healthier peanut butters and put them in the peter pan jar because I refused to eat anything else.

Krema chunky–just peanuts, no salt.

My family has always had strong preferences about their peanut butter. I can generally eat/drink generic brand anything but I’ve got to have real “Jiff” pnb and Diet Cokes!

Hellman’s is the nectar of the gods. :)

See…Booklady, we can always find common ground. ;)

I have to chime in here because I have a strong preference for Jif. Fun thread!:)

Krema is good. I’m wondering about this Teddie’s…I also give a thumbs up to TJ’s chunky.

I haven’t seen a jar of Adams Peanut Butter in ages. Grew up with it on the west coast. Not widely available here in the east.

A preference? Hard to say. Skippy and P. Pan are fine as far as mass market brands go. Don’t giggle but years ago I regularly purchased ‘Superman’ brand peanut butter. Hey, I was surprised at how tasty the stuff was! I haven’t seen that big red ‘S’ brand of PB in years, either.

Agree that low-fat peanut butter is useless and probably unhealthy.

A sticky question–but I vote for Jif Extra Crunchy (just checked the jar in the pantry). However, my interest has been piqued and I think I will have to buy Skippy to compare when we run out. Glad to see we’re dealing with such weighty topics!

Another Skippy fan here. That reminds me, time to buy more.

The ol’ (formerly) fat guy says: “Homey don’t eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches no more!” Those were 600+ calorie “snacks”.

The lo-cal version, 4 Stoned Wheat Thins crackers with peanut butter? 400 - 500 calories.

I endorse Parkers Farm peanut butter. Cost the same as regular brands but is really tasty and has less sugar to boot. My local Whole Foods carries it but other WF branches don’t. They have creamy, chunky (or maybe it was crunchy?), and honey.

idad, if you use reasonable-sized pieces of bread, you only need two Tablespoons of pb. Add one Tbsp of jelly, and I think that’s only in the neighborhood of 400 calories.

It’s my default lunch, when I’m out of cold cuts.

Ol’ fat guys are genetically incapable of reasonable sized pieces of bread, eating just two TBS of peanut butter, or just one TBS of jelly. We just aren’t wired that way.

Figure a “diet” (no bread, no jelly) late night snack of four stoned wheat thins each with a TBS of peanut butter and maybe a lemonade to wash it all down. Probably 600 calories. Do that every night and it’s over a pound of belly fat (a week!)

A 400 calorie peanut butter lunch would be fine. I just can’t do it. Therefore, my only option is to not have peanut butter in the house.

I am a peanut fanatic-those of you who like Jif and SKIPPY must never have tasted non-hydrogenated peanut butter(you have to stir it) No sugar or salt in my peanut butter-just peanuts !! Adams is terrific ,but not seen on the east coast ,got it in California .Out on the east coast ,Maple Grove is quite good-100% peanuts !! Back on west coast ,Laura Scudder made a no -salt crunchy that was pretty good . Danger lurks in those do-it -yourself grinders if not cleaned out frequently .Read about peanuts and aflitoxins , a kind of mold that can grow on peanuts ,and residue peanut butter left in machine .If you are looking for a new treat ,look for chocolate-almond butter at Whole Foods ,with very low sugar ,and not cheap !! I’ts about 8 dollars for a good sized jar. I 'd say ,best chunky is Adams .

DS likes skippy natural extra crunchy

No mention of PB & Co. yet???

I’ve got to say their cinnamon raisin peanut butter might be the best condiment ever invented. The dark chocolate version isn’t too shabby either…

Has anyone ever made their own PB using peanuts and salt in a food processor? I never have; just wondering how that is.
