Cindy McCain

“It’s almost as if it was scripted by the McCain team. The conservatives are now on board with Senator McClain. I love irony.”

One of the reporters was David Kirkpatrick, a politically VERY conservative newsperson. Suppose he planted it? ;)

I don’t quite understand the thesis that NYT held the story to “bring the most harm to the opposition”. If it wanted to sink McCain, it would have aired it before New Hampshire. (Unless they wanted to unite conservatives behind him?) I just don’t see the conspiracy.

As for NYT politics - I see them as rightwing corporate socialist flaks.

Lest we forget, the New York Times “easily” endorsed McCain:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/25/opinion/25fri2.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

They endorsed him in 2000 as well.

Maybe they endorsed him so they could try to smear him in the general?

The whole argument about so and so having lobbyist on their staff or contributing to them is old. Everybody in the race has lobbyists who have contributed $$ to their cause, including Obama. Nosecrets.org and you can find out how much $$ they received from pac’s, lobbyists etc. Just google “Obama bundlers” and you’ll get a list of Obama’s

Novel:

before you get too excited about “lobbyists”, you might want to consider that before he became a “lobbyist,” Charles Black worked as an advisor for Regan, GHW Bush, Bush II, and McCain. AFTER those stints, he became a “lobbyist,” but is now back advising John Mc. To paraphrase Obi Wan says: ‘move along, there is nothing to see here.’

“Maybe they endorsed him so they could try to smear him in the general?”

Maybe they endorsed him because (as they did 8 years ago) they LIKE him?

Or maybe it’s because of the remaining choices we have (stinkers that they may be), they believe he would make the best commander in chief.

Just a thought…

"Or maybe it’s because of the remaining choices we have (stinkers that they may be), they believe he would make the best commander in chief.

Just a thought…"

Amounts to the same thing, doesn’t it? (The evil of multiple lessers…;))

So, bluebayou, it doesn’t bother you that lobbyists are conducting their business from Mr. McCain’s bus? This isn’t a matter of who is giving money, it’s a lobbyist conducting business while on the bus of a man who claims not to do business with lobbyists.

Bothers the heck out of me. What do the lobbyists stand to gain…and what are they promising their clients, either overtly or in a wink ‘n’ nod fashion?

That’s a good one :)

Novelisto: No, it does not bother me since that is how Washington works. Perhaps Obama could change it, but not likely.

getting back to Cindy McCain…
I had noticed her standing closer to him in the past few days (more camera face time) before the NYT “expose”.Perhaps they knew it was coming?
And I don’t recollect her speaking before the Michelle Obama comment.
Anyway, to be completely catty, she reminds me exactly of so many women I saw in Scottsdale during D’s years in college in Arizona. Perfectly coiffed,made-up,tanned and toned blonds of a certain age in pantsuits of a certain “hue”.
Apologies to any native Arizonians who may be reading…

Today on cnn:

I wish I looked like her :)

Or, Michelle Obama for that matter.

Me, too! ;)

The alleged romantic “lobbyist” actually does look like Cindy McCain. Only younger. :o

1sm - Not to be negative, but I don’t see the resemblence - other than both are thin & blonde (not even the same blonde).

…or do all “blondes” look alike to you?? haha - jk.

^ Not to me, but maybe to Mac…

So are the “too old” themes negated because Senator McCain is, apparently, a stud muffin?

Either that, or younger women voters might think he’s a little…creepy.
