Civil Engineering Bachelor's Degree

I am only a freshman, but I would rather be prepared that not. So, I checked UVA’s site and found that their graduate program is 39th best, but I found nothing about a Bachelor’s Degree for Civil Engineering. CollegeBoard.com says that they do offer Civil Engineering as a Bachelor’s Degree, though. So, if it exsits, does UVA have a good undergraduate program from Civil Engineering?

i know 2 ppl in that program. they like it.

As a freshman in engineering right now, wanting to transfer, i’ll give you some advice. If you’re looking at top 40 engineering programs, they’re all going to be great. Yes, some will be better than others in small ways, but unless you’re talking about Stanford/MIT/maybe Berkley, there isnt a huge amount of difference between the strength of engineering at each school. Instead, focus on the differences between each school. The biggest difference will be the type of school (technical, liberal arts, balanced, ect) and its curriculum. Try to figure out whether you’ll to take liberal arts type classes in addtion to engineering (which is what you’ll get at UVa) or whether you want strictly engineering (VT, GT, UMich, ect). Also, think about location/size/strength of the overall university. These factors will help you distinguish between the different top engineering schools, instead of relying soley on rankings and such  good luck!

And yes, there is a BS in Civil Engineering available. There are also 6 areas that you can specialize in.

Thank You! You have been very helpful!
