Claremonts - how to visit?

My daughter was accepted into one of the Claremonts (Scripps). We love the school on paper, but even with aid it’s a stretch financially (compared to the UC education we had budgeted for, and to which she has acceptances). Queries to the school indicate that Scripps (and possibly the other Claremonts?) are closed to visitors right now, during Cali spring break. Is that true? Is there no way to even walk around these campuses like the public unis allow? I know pandemic conditions are unique but seems a bit rich to expect admits to form connection without ever setting sight on the school…Advice appreciated.

Hi there. My daughter was accepted ED to Scripps and will be attending in the Fall. Though the campus was closed, some other early ED admits who lived close drove over and walked around. They posted photos on instagram of various places on campus for the ED group. So it certainly has been possible for some to walk around. Whether that’s generally true or not I don’t know.

My daughter was lucky enough to visit while she was a sophomore. Actually, we were there to visit Pomona and had extra time, so filled the next day with a Scripps tour. She fell in love with the campus and “vibe” and had her heart set on it since then. It’s such a pity the new admits are not able to do this.
