This program takes forever to make its decision, one of my classmate just told me that he didn’t receive his rejection until late April when he was expecting to be accepted… The way that Clark processes its decision really blows people off…

Well, it’s not so much that it takes forever to process the decision, as that, since the application deadline is later, so is the admissions date. Interesting to hear that some of you got rejection letters. I’m sorry to hear that, mathfreak, but you have nothing to be sad about since SSP is also a good program (although different in its emphasis - less research-based).

Hm…rejection letters but no finalist notifications yet? Weird Oh well.

mathfreak, are you serious? You have such great stats! My chance is just getting slimmer and slimmer. It’s such a shame that I didn’t even break 2300.
But I can still stay at home and read Plato, Harvey and Euclid and freak out about my application. St. John’s provided me with such a great reading list.

^happysunnyshine

lol,you go to St.John’s in Houston?

I mean St. John’s college. The college sent me pamphlets to encourage me to apply.

So are the rejections letters all coming via regular mail (so I know where to look for it)?

I remember last year, I never got the rejection letter even though I didn’t make it.

^Yeah, last year they only sent stuff through email anyway. I find it really weird that people have reported receiving stuff in the mail…

happysunshine, my SAT didn’t crack 2300 either. My ACT was perfect, but I never submitted it to the program.

St. John’s in Annapolis/Santa Fe has a Great Books program, so basically they just read and discuss and stuff…

proletariat2, how do you compare ACT with SAT?

I like the ACT better, personally, mostly because of science reasoning. The differences overall are minor, though.

When will the decision for the finalists come out?

Do all the finalists get notified at the same time? It looks like that two years ago they weren’t.

So has anyone heard anything yet? My son has tentatively accepted a couple of other opportunities, and he’s going to have to make a real decision soon…

I haven’t heard back either (from snail mail or from e-mail). I guess that’s a…good thing? Maybe? Apparently applicants last year heard about semifinalists by April 18th, so hopefully something will happen.

Ahh…I’m really nervous XD.

I haven’t heard back anything either. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope for the best.

It’s probably a good sign. Guessing it means you’re still in consideration…

But it seems like most of us are still in consideration. It seems kind of random to reject a few (well-qualified) applicants early, before continuing deliberations. It makes the wait a little worse because you never know when you’re going to get something.

Well, honestly, I’m starting to doubt the claims of other people that they got rejected, simply because they rarely send anything through normal mail. I think everyone who applied is still in consideration, and I doubt there’ll be a semifinalist round. But really, I know nothing.

I really hope it’s this week.

Just got my call! They’ve paired me with someone who works in topology, so that should be fun.
