Clark University Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

We didn’t. What was it about?

Apologizing for mistakenly sending an email that said our student had committed to Clark for the fall. While they hoped child would commit-- understood that child is still making a decision.
Oddly we didn’t actually get an email saying she’d committed. (not did our D24).

Is there any further update on second (March) round on Presidential Scholarship ?

We haven’t heard anything on the second round. I was wondering the same.

Nothing here, either.

Anyone else headed up to Clark next weekend?

We wanted to visit Clark on our spring break but we are unable. I hope if anyone is visiting soon they give a review.

We’re headed there on the 16th.

Great day today at Clark accepted students day. There were a half dozen official activities then we walked the Canal District and ate. He rated it 9/10 but we have more schools to revisit. So, no hoodie today.

Intro speakers - admin were OK but the student knocked it out of the park. The students walking around were great - we spoke to several about life at Clark

Session 1 - the kids split off and went to classes which were all fairly interesting. Parents heard from a faculty panel. A lot of parent questions about policy.

Session 2 - parents & kids met teachers by area (humanities, CS game design, art & theatre, etc). Excellent. Really get the feeling the profs connect with the kids. His eyes lit up where he heard about some of the research and classes and collaborations.

Session 3 - not as good. Supposed to be life at Clark and after Clark. The sessions were kind of weak so we bailed on the ice cream social and went for food.

Downtown Worcester - There are 3-4 distinct areas of downtown about a mile from campus so we specifically went to a part of town we had not been to. They are building a lot of apartments in the Canal District and there are several blocks of restaurants, shops, and the indoor market (the Woo version of Eataly). Lively area. More to do than several other schools but not right to campus. Uber or Bus ride away plus they do have a campus ride service.

We will be going to the next session. Were there any opportunities to speak with any departments (housing, student services, etc) or will we have to skip a session to do that? Same thing regarding doing a tour?

Thanks so much for your review!

There was an opportunity to schedule appointment specifically with financial aid. I don’t see why you couldn’t ask ahead to speak with housing etc. there were also at least two different sessions where you could ask questions

Tours are available through the day. We saw several groups of kids we know were there in the morning opening session.

Got an update that DC not shortlisted for Clark’s Presidential Scholarship.

Clark informing way too late and way too little. Going to commit somewhere else.

Clark has to significantly improve its admission process and communication. Very dissapointed.

Sorry to hear that. My S24 was offered honors today. This is the first cohort of the new honors program. Anyone else?

haven’t heard anything, no. rejected from presidential scholarship today as well

S24 was offered honors but not the presential scholarship. 1000 applicants - wow!
