Class of 2011 from Nepal...lets discuss here

I am assuming issac won’t mind and wondering if he has one. lol.

LETTER FROM A SARDAR’S LOVING MOTHER TO THE SARDAR:

Pyaarey puttar,
Vahe Guru!
Beta (son), I’m writing this letter slow, because I know you cannot read fast. We don’t live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the paper that most accidents happen 20 miles from home, so we moved 20 miles away.

I won’t be able to send the new address as the last Sardar who lived here took the house numbers with him for his new house so that he wouldn’t have to change his address. This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine, situated right above the commode. I’ m not sure it works too well. Last week I put in 3 shirts, pulled the chain and haven’t seen them since.

The weather here isn’t too bad. It rained only twice last week.
The first time it rained for 3 days and the second time for 4 days.

The coat you wanted me to send you, your Aunt said that it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with all the metal buttons, so I cut them off and put them in the pocket instead.

Your father has another job. He has 500 men under him. He is cutting the grass at the cemetery. By the way I took my bahu (your wife, Dhanno) to our club’s pool for swimming. The manager is very badmaash. He told her that a two-piece swimming suit was not allowed
in the club. She did not swim that day. She was confused as to which piece should she remove?!

Your sister had a baby this morning. I haven’t found out whether it is a girl or a boy, so I don’t know whether you are an Aunt or an Uncle.

Your uncle, Satinder fell in a nearby well. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them off bravely and drowned. We cremated him
and he burned for three days Your best friend, Balwinder, is no more.
He died in the process of digging a grave for his father; trying to fulfill his Admiral father’s last wishes to be buried at sea.

There isn’t much more news at this time. Nothing much has happened. Love,

Your mom

P.S.: I was going to send you some money, but the envelope was already sealed!

hey issac are u frm punjab!! this is a joke i got from indians. hehe

hehe. really funny buddhaforever. I don’t think Isaac is a Punjabi.

lol…its very common here…I get 2-3 Jokes evryday…
And, I m not Sardar…not even close to it…

Are there any Whitman college applicants? It is a cool college. Actually I get surprised when people choose Reed over Whitman. It is better in the rankings too and the whole community of Whitman seems to be more fun than at least Reed. Reed is the place for the hippies and makes students work like labors in studies. It is very comparable to the likes of Bowdoin, Colby and likes. I was there once and then was when I felt that the USNEWS did injustice by having Whitman below Trinity and macalester. I applied to Whitman and now waiting for the results… But I hope I get into Amherst, my first choice.

that means u will be transferring to another school for your sophomore buddhaforever??

I am looking to no_novice. This is not a bad college i am in but always got to look for better opportunities ni bhai. But the chance of transferring is only around 0.1%. We have had quite a few applicants from Nepal this year in my college, but they do not seem to be the strongest of applicants, IMO. Some from malpi BNKS and some other unknown schools.

lol! (10chars)

was that a sarcastic lol? :D

what do you expect from a reed '11 !!!..an appreciation??..hehe

Oh you got into Reed!!! I did not mean to undermine the quality of Reed (the college that defied USNEWS Rankings). But I am surprised to see people not being interested in Whitman, which is just four hours away from Reed and is as cool a college as any other in US…just laying my thoughts, no one was speaking so…But ya Reed is cool too and financial aid there is awesome…

Ok so where are the safeties this year???

I repeat again…is there anything like a safety school for an international fin aid seeker?..I mean acceptance without aid is completely useless…

it depends on how much aid? Even good colleges like trinity or the likes will put some amount of the financial aid as loan and work study. So safeties are there (with aid.) you just need to pay the minimum amount. If there were no safeties a large group of nepalese would have been in kathmandu.

Shail u don’t neeed any safeties now lol haha

yeh but those of us who do not have IUB need safeties too. :(

hehe…so the bottomline is…if u are not willing to pay (the minimum amount…although the word minimum seriously undermines the actual amount)…then forget about safeties…right?..the consequent answers will probably make the case more clear about the whole saga of safeties…

Like in my case:(

hehe…so the bottomline is…if u are not willing to pay (the minimum amount…although the word minimum seriously undermines the actual amount)…then forget about safeties…right?..

yes. Safety is not a place where you expect full aid but a place where you can actually get accepted. Why would Ohio wesleyan or salem or any other likes would be safety otherwise.

i applied to whitman too!!!
