yah I’ve been planning to go on a long hike after getting into some college… hopefully that comes fast…

yeah…that’s why i am so so desperate for my fin aid package…

it doesn’t end here Isaac. there are many other misconceptions about nepal that we need to clarify to our neighbours. I don’t know but the media sumtimes interprets nepal in a totally different way.

anyone else facing problems with the internet(cable) connection?

yah… one thing that totally gets my nerves is that due to india’s initial propaganda so many ppl think that buddha was born in india…

hehe…ya…media is after all ‘‘media’’…
thanx generic…that was the only poem I hav ever written…and that too in 2 mins…it just came to my mind…(as I was thinkin of something new to post for 1000th post…;)…)…
well…and Lord Buddha was really born in India(as far as I hav studied)…
ToUSin2007: I was havin a great time with the connection(broadband) past weekend…had to revert back to the dial-up(it sucks)…coz the servers were down…

hehe Isaac. then u must have also studied that the Ashoka Pillar is in Lumbini, Nepal.

Well, I dont hav that sharp memory…cant remember it…

well, as for his birth place…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siddhartha_Gautama

It doesnt really matter where he was born…the thing that matters is What he has taught…

ToUSin007 - i am having prblms with my cable conn… actually my parents cut the cable line while they were cutting a tree…i joined it myself… and now its really slow//

issac newton would you mind posting your sat scores…i am getting nervous with stanford.

if it matters to the world where christ was born, where mohammed was born, then it does matter to a certain extent where buddha was born…aniways this isnt about faking buddha to have been born in any country…it’s a question of truth

so ur trying to say that he was born in Lumbini. I thought he was born in some himalayas?

another admissions news… i dont know if u are updated with this…a guy frm bnks was accepted by Villanova University …ED

Anyone here for the rolling admissions???..

c’mon porkey… remember ur history lessons…
maybe nepal really needs that buddha in its bank notes now…
btw… in many senses it does matter where he was born… that’s what brings tourists and consequently money…
plus history can’t be skewed

anyone here applying for indian embassy exams in april? i’m seriously thinking that if everything fails… and hopefully if i pass the exam IIT can be a safety… how’s that? i can see some eyes rolling
at least my US arrival might be more prepared… along with a RHCE hopefully…

i had similar problems one time with my telephone line… myan imagine internet at 19.2 kbps… i had to use lynx and when some downloads were needed, connect to neighbors lines… hehe… can be called phreaking… used to be fun… just getting nostalgic

IIT admits int’ls???..I never heard that…
And IIT as safety???
LORD SAVE ME!!!..

IIT admits internationals. I know this because I qualify as one by its standards (foreign citizen), but I’m allowed to write the JEE and accept a seat in the unlikely event that I get through – only difference is that prices are higher. (Rs. 15000 vs. $3000 approx.)

And honestly? I personally have a better shot at IIT than, say, MIT. At least I can do well on exams!

IMO…getting into IIT is equivalent to getting into MIT…

yah… at least it’s easier to get from competing here in Nepal than in india… i had heard they had stopped sending from nepal… i actually have relatives who have done engg from IIT with this same scholarship…
will try anyways…
