General Comments/Congratulations/etc: Glad I got in here. Although I applied to 3 Ivies, Vassar easily made it into my top 3, and Vassar’s acceptance letter was more important to me than all three Ivies’ rejection letters. Congrats to fellow 2011 Vassar acceptees, my condolences to those who didn’t make it. Anyone know why nobody’s posted on the admitted students board yet?

Teacher Recs: I think they’re great. I have good relationships with the those teachers, but I didn’t read my recs.
Counselor Rec: Probably ok, It was my counselor’s first year as a counselor.

Okay, I have a question. Five of my friends applied to Vassar along with me – four of them got their rejection letters yesterday; I have yet to get anything, same with my fifth friend. She and I are definitely the most “competitive” of the bunch of us… am I wrong to think that maybe our letters are taking longer because they’re thick envelopes? haha…

international - rejected…
sat 1 - 2050
sat 2 - math 2 - 690 physics 710
not too surprised cuz i got rejected from hamilton.sat was probably too low.my gpa was high, more than 3.6 id reckon.oh well…im actually not too bummed…i initially had it as my first choice but after gettin to know more about it i realize it wasnt for me.will most probably be attending beloit.got the scholarship.

to all those residing in the Us and who have done high school.could u please tell me how beloit is rated there(no please dont quote usnews rankings). is it a decent enough school worth attending. it probably doesnt rank up there with the likes of vassar but does it have any sort of credibility? also. are ur grad school prospects affected if u go to a place like beloit. thats not in the elite liberal arts colleges? or is it mostly abt GRE and gpa?
would really appreciate it if someone could answer these questions.thanks

Beloit is a wonderful school. (It’s included in Loren Pope’s book "Colleges That Change Lives.) It’s not “famous,” but seems to be very well regarded academically. We visited last year and found the campus and buildings to be charming. The only negative I could see was the surrounding area–the little town it’s in doesn’t have much in it. Good luck!
