D was waitlisted. Oh, well.

Accepted!

SAT I: 2170 (650M, 750V, 770W)
SAT II: Lit 790, US Hist 710, Math II 640
GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.8 W
Rank: 1/303 (I might be making up the 303 part)
APs: 5 on USH, taking five more exams this year (masochism in action)
Essays: My one that wasn’t Why Vassar was really good. I can’t remember my Why Vassar one at all. I don’t even remember writing a Why Vassar one. hmm.
Interview: Was AWESOME. I LOVED the guy. He was great.
Teacher Recs: A really great one from one of my favorite teachers - really personal
Counselor Recs: The most ridiculous thing you will ever read. Literally, a page-long extended metaphor of me as a “brilliant white yacht.” I wish I was joking, but honestly, I don’t know how an admissions committee can read that and forget it.
ECs: I live at dance and theatre rehearsals. And when I’m not there I’m at my part-time job. I don’t sleep.
Hook: ^ That? Or the letter of amazingness?

for those U.S. students that were accepted, can you please tell me how and when you were notified? Not the diversified bunch, just regular acceptances. PLEASE. Daughter rejected from a few already and Vassar was her favorite. Hasn’t received a thing.

MomInWaiting – I got my acceptance (a hefty envelope) today in the mail. Four of my friends who applied got their rejection letters a couple days before I did; one other friend is STILL waiting on hers (I’m assuming she got in). Good luck to your daughter!

Thanks. Good luck to you as well.

My daughter got her acceptance yesterday (Thursday).

It’s weird, aren’t there still people in NY who haven’t recieved their letters? I’m in CO and I got mine on Thursday, too.

has anyone not gotten their financial aid award yet?

I was rejected. And then today I was accepted to Harvard. I don’t understand the world at all.

Anyway, congrats to you guys. I’ll always be a little bit in love with Vassar. :(

I got in~ An amazing offer~

um, should I be concerned? I’m in Massachusetts and I haven’t received my decision yet.

This is so frustrating. It’s gotten to the point where I’m wondering if I even really applied… I know that’s nuts. I had an interview. They said my application was complete.

Ugh…

Is anyone out there still in my boat?

as a junior some of the scores getting rejected are making me scared.

did anyone apply as a studio art major, submit a portfolio / meet an art professor?

Okay, so MomInWaiting is NO longer waiting! ACCEPTED at Vassar! It was just as you all said…snailmail, big envelope, all the way to Texas. Long ways, but it made it and she is VERY happy. Also was waitlisted at Amherst. But, sorry, folks. Vassar was THE most gorgeous campus we visited including all the Ivys. Now, MomInWaiting is MomIn Worrying as I figure out how to cover $48K. Thanks to all of you for being such an incredible support system for my daughter. I (and she) could NOT have made it through this past week without, as they say in Texas, without ‘Y’ALL’. Good luck and remember that it all works out as it should.

MomInWaiting is a great Mom. You’re luckieeee.

I know. I am pretty lucky… I’ll miss her next year.

Congrats LookCloser and MomInWaiting!

My daughter is in her third year at Vassar and loves it. She expressed the same thing upon admission - “this is where I am meant to be”, and has continued to feel that way. Cool kids, great academics, gorgeous campus (as you said!) and great rugby!

Mom - don’t know what EFC need you have for fin aid, but I can assure you that Vassar was as generous in meeting our need as any other college when all the initial offers were compared.

Best of luck as A Brewer!

THeOldProf…Thanks. Did u attend the open house days before the freshman year? We just visited in February, she’s pretty much decided that’s where she’s attending and want to make sure she doesn’t miss out on anything if she doesn’t attend the open house. Do they tell you things about dorms, and what to bring and not bring? Will that info be readibly available to all incoming freshman?
