Do you offer financial aid for international students?

During the 2006-2007 academic year Lehigh provided more than $900,000.00 in university-funded grants and scholarships to international students. 25% of our undergraduate international students receive financial aid awards. The average financial aid award is approximately $26,683.00. The financial aid awards ranged from $1,987.00 to $36,520.00. Our financial aid is typically awarded in “package” form, which includes some combination of grants and scholarships, loans and campus employment.

Awards are made on the basis of an analysis of a family’s ability to pay for college and a student’s academic achievement. Students applying for international student financial aid must complete and a copy of the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) AND a copy of the International Student Certification of Finances (ISCF). The ISFAA and ISCF may be available from your guidance counselor. You may also download a copy at the Lehigh international admissions web page.

The ISFAA should be submitted at the same time as your complete application for admission. No awards will be granted solely on the basis of merit, but rather on the combination of financial need, academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.

Competition for international student financial aid is keen. Last year, only 15 students were offered financial aid packages out of the more than 300 admissible applicants requesting financial aid. You are strongly encouraged to explore other sources of scholarship and financial aid.

The decisions regarding the number of scholarships and the amount awarded to international students are based on the information students provide in their admissions application and ISFAA, and are made in the context of the entire applicant pool. It is not possible for us to give students an assessment of whether or not they will receive financial aid or how much they would receive without an application and ISFAA to review.

my ED2 is Franklin and Marshall college

lehigh would always be a good try… but Lafayette would be a far better and worthier try  haha…just continuing “The Rivalry” :D

Well i know that. If i can get upto full tution i think i can manage with help from some relatives in us. And if the university doesnt accept me i will loose nothing but 500 rs.

Caldwell offers upto ful tution and it wil be fun to study there with more than 20 friends from my batch and most of them from stxc. A group photo of nepalese in caldwel that i found in face book inspired me to apply there

Nishan… I didnt get your email. Send it again.

Sahil… Is it true that employers prefer graduates from national universities to those from LACs.

@ exist…

I don’t think that is true… if able graduates are all that they are looking for…then I guess LAC’s are not that bad places to look at…if not better places to look at… but then again…by national universities if u meant ivies and some of these big shot universities like MIT and Duke and Stanford, it wouldn’t be fair to compare them with smaller LAC’s because even their names sell…including the fact that they produce some of the finest brains in a lot of fields…all because they took in the finest brains to start with…

@ manasm… I am applyin to Dickinson for ED1 too. Well, I know I wont get in… my documents just reached yesterday … but like did they call u up for an alum interview or sumthin??? THey told me they would but they dint… does that mean that they have already rejected me???haha

And doesany one know what the expository prose in Hamilton and few other colleges require? Does it have to be a GP analytical essay or like… I had a paper on Economics… a review of a article previously published by the Oxford Uni. Will that work if I ask my teacher to put in the grades and comments???

I dont know about hamilton, but many colleges do require a graded essay sample that is usually a critical or analytical essay. So , I may be wrong as well because I am not quite sure, but I think a recent review article would work.
What say frens?

I am not sure. Well, the length does matter too. I guess you will have to keep it short. In case of Hamilton, they say it should be around 2-3 pages at the minimum. I dont know whether an econ article works either. I GUESS it does. AND I am applyin to Dickinson too and I have not had an Alumni interview. Does that mean I am rejected too?

I guess I too should apply to Caldwel then. A reasonable safety option.

So many have applied to Dickinson. anyway, new frens:welcome aboard

cladwel is not a men- only college rite?if yes, i wont apply there. if no, i will think of applying there as well

Wow, all those expository papers and graded essays are really giving me a headache. I havent done anything of the sort till now.

*caldwel
and alumni interview call is not compulsory for international students, at least i heard so. And besides that, they have called no one from nepal for tht interview, so i guess they have no plans for interviewing nepalese students as well. Be calm people, no alumni interview call does not mena rejection. (I heard it from seniors)

even I have not done anything like that
I just went to my school today, just to find that even the teachers do not know
