and last but not the least…to wrap up my barrage of posts… I suggest you guys to use CC as an important resource during your college application coz I know from experience that it really can help in so many different ways, come the end of march… I know it’s hard to find people at home who precisely know about all the stuffs that come with college applications… so CC then becomes even more important in that it can be the difference between void and accurate information that could help you in making wise decisions…yet again…Do good and best of luck…

Manasm, as shail said you should write a 2-3 page long formal esay. I had written analysis of a novel and got dn sir to grade the esay in 2-3 criteria originality, organizat4on, etcs

hey guys, i have a composite score of 1350 but my writing score is pathetic. how much will the writing score be considered if they say that they don’t require writing in ACT.

I think we should put our stats here in this thread like it was done in thread for class of 2011. What do you all think about it? Shail… you had done a great job then. Rena it is your turn now to make the way a tradition of nepali thread in cc. That will make this thread more informative…well i guess it will.

Hey ed applicants have you recieved any mail from your colleges. Trinity has not sent me any email not even letter of acknowledgement. I have already sent more than 8 emails but have heard nothing from them. Does this warrent a rejection to my application. Like they dont reply me coz they wont accept me.

@ exist
yeah it is always good to discuss your standings with your peers…it will then significantly help you in your college research as well as predictions as only then you will know what your actual competition is like… at least it helped me a lot last year…

and about the mail from your college…well it might have been that they might have sent you a paper based mail stating how to access the online checklist system which you never got…or maybe like always they are swamped with thousands of applicants making it almost impossible for them to reply to each applicant email individually…don’t worry though…if you have posted your items on time then everything should be fine… personally, I only heard from Lafayette only once ( and I mean only once) about the completion of my app…and the next time I heard from them…it was the acceptance email… :D

Best of Luck for early decisions everyone…!!!

exist:
I dont know what is going with my thread, because no one is posting stats. You must have seen my appeals, but ha!
and about tht graded essay paper , u need critical and analytical type essays only? i mean could not it be from any one of your clasroom assignments?

And frens, please post at least about the colleges you are applying.
Reminder: I am applying to-
Harvard, Yale(What goes for just a try?)
Bryn Mawr, Wellesley, Smith, Mtholyoke(one of them must be a safety)
Wesleyan, dickinson,reed, IUB,gettysburg, midddlebury,lafayette

Hey no one is worried about their early decision decision letters. Everyone should be anticipatory of their rejection letter so he/she does not get severe pulmonary blockage. Well same here exist, Dickinson has not sent me any mail. I guess they will straightly send a rejection letter.

Ok here is my college list.
Ed 1 trinity
ed 2 dickinson (unless somebody washes my mind)
harvard (1490 is median score of harvard is nt it a match to me? …lol) WUSTL lehigh brandeis grinell macalester oberlin reed lafayette wabash hampden sydney caldwel luther

Rena, not actually. But your writing has to be a formal one (more formal than your personal statement) and you have to get it graded by your english teacher. I guess it is asked to know the level of your writing in daily assignments. Liberal arts colleges make your write these sort of essays frequently on many topics. So i think they want to know how you will present your daily assignments through the graded essay.

thanks exist. seems that harvard is a match for me as well(lol ). tht is why i am applying there. And grinnell will be having a lot of applicants as always. just beacsue of its special schoilarship to nepalese students.
