Class of 2012 from Nepal

St. John in ny is the one we should be looking at if we want aid. It offers upto full tution scholarship and it is merit based and will be awarded only to 26 students (nationals and international)
regarding university of richmond they say that their admission policy for international students is need blind and unlike other need blind colleges they do not warrent full need will be met.

I know for sure the tragedy with our batch isn’t going to happen with your batch again…

skunk,
not so sure about the I Sc thing but the HSEB guys (at least in BNKS)get an A for anything equal to or more than 70.that way the transcript really looks better than the A level guys who have Bs in their final cambridge grades.
that was what I meant.

It’s really really difficult to get As in the A levels. Some people have spread the completely untrue fact that the A levels are a piece of joke and one does not have to study anything at all to ace it. And there is always the fact that whenever I meet my relatives and say I have just completed my A levels from Budhanilkantha, just about everyone says 'Aee…aba bidesh jane haina ta babu?". Its just too much, as if BNKS and a levels are a ticket to go to the US, that too with a visa gurantee.
Drifts out of the topic in discussion, but random musings wont hurt the forum anyway.
And lets not talk about Sarthak dai, I respect him much for what he was and disclosing the little misfortune he happened to face in his college apps would be close to slander.
EDs will be out soon! Its high time the anticipation ran high!

Is jesuit edu system good???

what was the tragedey that shail faced???could u share it with us??

The only Jesuit College I know, which offers aid to internationals, is St. Peters in NJ. There are several Nepalese there(saw the networks on facebook), and I think their aid is good as well. This one Jesuit college would be a good try, but have no idea about the others.

Suggest me some good state unis which have reasonable aid for intl students yaar. I am in desperate need of safeties.

state universities need official copies of toefl and sat …what will u guy do bout that??

I think I must say that the HSEB evaluation process is very similar to I sc as well and it is not at all good fr unlucky students, i mean those who fare well in the class but are victimised by those ugly unknown checkers.

Ah, now i realised that i am one page late to say this

Do state universities not accept the notarized copies of toefl and sat? in that case it is really a massive problem.

oye tyo bocca ra bnks12 bhanya ko ho?

Most common replies that we college bound people have to face:

  1. I20 ayo?
  2. SAT bhanda important TOEFL ho.
    4.BUdhanilkantha le SAT oefl dinuparchha?

to add to ayush753…more then i-20 aayoo…babu kailey uuddaaiii ho ta??? as if its so easy…god save us

this one is from trinity’s website where students post in their journals:::

"Let me start off my saying academically, Trinity is an excellant institution with a lot offer students in my department. I am a second year Public Policy and Law student. The faculty in the department are amazing and really have a lot of faith in getting the best out of their students. I will say, though, I have had bad experienes with 3 professors- two from concentration who happen to be the only two professors in that field, and one regarding a reiumburstment in another dept. As professors, they’re amazing. And if they’re not great professors, they’re usually good people. You can’t have the best of both worlds ALL the time. If all you want is an education, this is a good place to be.

However, for a student like me who isn’t the typical “Trin Trin” student, this place is HELL. It is extremely heterogenous. If you do not look like the majority, you will never feel like you belong. There is the regular trinity student, and then the rest who got in because of the effort to recruit minority students like me. I will say it’s not worth it. There is NO social scene unless u like to crowd vernon st. at the frats and drink all night. Your only alternative really are the Hip Hop shows once a month, which get old after a while.

I will recommend this school if you don’t mind the “prep school” experience because that’s what trinity is… an extention from prep school.

If you’re like me, someone who doesnt wanna just drink beer all night every weekend, because that’s what’s most available, and who is in college for more than just studying, trinity isn’t the place to be. If you’re into the frats and beer, being part of a mainstream Greek org, and like the whole J Crew image, this is a great place. People can argue with me all they want, but the point is, this place is for ONE type of person. If you’re not that person, you’re not gonna be happy here at Trinity.

It is what it is… but it’s not for me. I plan on transferring next year."

there’s one thing to add to ayush753’s post-
ahile ta dhila bhayena? udisaknu parne bela bhayo ta.

thanks isnwta, now trinity is definitely off my list.
btw, which trinity are we talking about here?

trinity college (CT)

I think state universities do accept notarised copies of SATs and TOEFL.So that shoild not be a big problem.

wht is a notarised copy?
