Class of 2012

Has anyone had their visa interview yet?

nope… i’ll call tomorrow to schedule an interview. the only way to schedule one is to call a number that costs you 2.50$ / MINUTE!!! FIGURES!!!

people start getting their pennkeys…i’m sure my letter got lost somewhere over the atlantic

What’s a pennkey?

I got my I-20 just today so have to book a date this evening.

pennkey is the password you need to set up your upenn.edu email.

hehe i almost asked how can you book a date today but then i remembered what you told me about the weekends in UAE :)

poly, d’u get a date? Hereabouts, its so hard to get a date.:(

I finish each section 10 minutes early :S.

I used to do that too. It does help if you can read the passage real fast.
I hope you do not use any of those stupid techniques that different practice books advocate. If you can read fast, you don’t need any techniques.

Yeah I’m a very fast reader. :)

I also find that all those techniques listed by the guide books are pretty useless.

I mean, the only potentially helpful one is POE, but any bum can figure out that POE is a good way to go. The guide books obviously don’t think so :).

Somehow, the order of my posts is inverted!

Lol something’s wrong with CC.

@skunk:

All dates are booked here till the 23rd of July, so I emailed them asking for an earlier date.

I am not sure what to do. Ok, I book a date, now, and get a VISA for University of New Orleans. But, what if, a college that has waitlisted me decides to take me (not much of a hope though). Apply again for another visa??? So, what do I do? Wait till all post-waitlist decisions are made.

that’s a good question.
maybe contact the Office for International Students Affairs at the univs you were waitlisted?
i think what you should do now is get the I-20 from UNO. definitely not wait until all waitlist-decisions are made coz this might no be the case until july.

Howdy folks.

(whoa, Texan twang…)

2013’er here… lmao… ontop of that INDIANESS!!! woot woot… represent the northern indians we rock…

hey rister…I received my I20 from UNO about a month back. Are you suggesting that I apply for VISA now?

I asked Middlebury adcom and they said that they were doing homework to take students off the waitlist and the decisions MAY arrive by Mid June.

Oh thank god you’re a 2013-er. I’m a 2014-er, and I’m finally gonna have some company now! :D

i really don’t know jason. i think you should apply for a VISA now but I really don’t know what will happen if you get of the waitlist somewhere else. maybe you should ask your embassy? or the office for international students at middlebury (not the admissions office but the office that sends out the I20’s and stuff)

Visa process is even more nerve wracking than the application process.

really? why???
