Guys has anyone got the decision from trinity college?

got rejected from sarah lawrence also. 3 rejections in one day, damn! still more than 10 (haven’t counted the exact number) to go though.
@puredreams09:
i didn’t apply to sewanee

I think Gramblingscholar is facing Tufts syndrome (Yield protection). Aren’t your grades and scores pretty decent? How were your essays? Your posts here tell they must be pretty fine too. I guess you should appeal in few colleges. Any ways, best of luck for the rest. You should get some.

uplander
Health Insurance here costs about 1450$/year
Although they charged it in my bill, after a talk with them they dropped my health insurance fees… I think you should do the same.

Who ever has really great scores (henry42, grambling, etc.)
The Tufts syndrome might have come into account, so make sure you send e mails to all the colleges that wait listed you, describing that you are an international, the admissions process is …, i am really interested in your college…, if admitted i will enroll, etc. … (Indirectly beg for your admissions) write an e mail to the admissions office/ dean.

2 sophomores (Class of 2011 of Nepal) in Trinity did the same…
One was RBS topper (Rahul Shakya) the other was BNKS topper (Sarthak Khanal) (to the best of my knowledge)
both EDed to Stanford…then a pile of rejections…
just Trinity wait listed them…no one accepted them!!
then they both sent long e mails to Trinity…and Trinity accepted them!
currently, They both have GPAs above 4.0 and it would be no exaggeration to say that they are the smartest sophomores here!!

@thegame: why would you go to sarah lawrence just for the oxford program? its just one semester abroad, and you’ll have to spend 3 and a half years at the school itself. i can think of so many other reasons to go there: the writing programs, their educational system which is so weird and at the same time, so awesome, and their boy-to-girl ratio (75 to 25). if you’re a guy, you should want to go there. girls there are boy-crazy, trust me. i went for a visit, and a few parties, and the girls are just so desperate for guys. out of that 25 percent of guys, i think 50 percent are gay though, but thats balanced out by the 50 percent of girls who are lesbians. i’m a girl but i dont think it’d be a problem if i went there, i’m not interested in quirey guys anyway.

@uplander:
health insurance in the US is really a scam. you need it to survive but in another way, you don’t really need it either. you pay the insurance but if something happens to you, the insurance will never cover the full expenses and the hospital will ask you to pay the rest of the amount, which is usually above $1000. so if you request the hospital and give them your reasons, they’ll usually waive your fees. unless the college you’re going to has a compulsory health plan, i suggest that you find a way to get around it. trust me ;-)

@everyone not just @everyone
are there any college’s decision left to be out yet.
As far as i think the desperate and deserved candidates :gramblingscholar,mitscholar,BNKS8,vademecum,henry42 and puredreams09 still need a good placement.

I have not more colleges eft.

@anon_applicant08ev
What major are you pursuing and what is your current GPA?
Is it really difficult in USA to work and study side by side?And are there any effects of economic crisis for international students and their off-campus jobs?

@builttospill
are you really from New York and are you a girl? Hard to believe.
Then If i were accepted for SLC,i would no matter go to that.I love the ratio of males to females there.Ow!!!Girls.

@i will be in IB:
why is it difficult to believe that i’m a girl and i’m from new york? what are you basing that assumption on? you havent even talked to me. is it because almost every nepali here is a dude? i studied in nepal till grade 8, then i did my high school in india. after that, i took a year off from school and i live in long island, just outside of new york with my mom. what else do you want to know about me?

and anyone who gets in at SLC, should definitely go.

@builttospill
Are you a non-resident Nepali in USA?
And i love your user name “Built to spill”- wat is that?

@I will be in IB
Am i not a desperately waiting candidate?

@ctrl forum
technically, i’m an international student. my parents are both on extended work visas. i’ve only been living here for the past two years. but if you want to know about colleges in the new york city area, ask me! i’ve visited most of them and i know.

and built to spill is an indie rock band. i love them!

now she tells me to apply to slc …

ok how many of u are from sxc ???

L :smiley: L
Oxford is just one reason. The others are its prime location in NY and of course its * amazing * writing program. I wouldn’t go for girls tho - you can find them at any LAC you go as long as you’re *good enough/i. However, for those of us who worship the American Pie series, that may be a good reason :wink: A great one actually.

LOL!

10 char

lol we do not worship American Pie series… i just like to use the word F^&*face lol…
serioulsy russell peters ftw… darn i forgot the topic again

I don’t think anyone has the guts to admit that, eh? :p

but of course they do… lol
