@anon_applicant08ev and drexk
thanks
i AM on financial aid of course…i guess i will have to talk to the admission officer…but only after i have enrolled i will be doing that…

n do we have to show the ability to pay college loans while applying for the visa???

sorry guys if i am venturing a little out of topic here…dont mind

^^^
I have no idea on this one

has anyone from bnks has ever got into randolph? how many from the current batch got into it? anyone, any idea?

@grambling
It just keeps getting gloomier by the day… Dont worry ull get in(u must have heard this a lot of times). but anyway keep cool. Whatever happens, it’ll be good…As for me, Ive already started preparing myself for 2010…

^^ there are currently 11 nepalese students in randolph college: the admin. told me!!
i dunno abt financial aid they recieved.!

COlgate decision out yet?

@henry42
don’t think so. but really hope we both get accepted though. best of luck!

^^^^
Colgate decisions should have been posted on March 25.

I think its illegal in some states (i’m sure about MA) to stay without a health insurance. However, colleges accept private insurances which can be significantly cheaper.

@dallo306, BNKS8
Withdraw didn’t work for me too, rejected from Union.

@grambling
i ve heard a lot of best of luck but thanks for it. But now more than ever, i want someone to slap me and blurt out that i dont deserve it . That would make my day.

@god
how much cheaper are you talking about? the college has one for $1500

dont get disheartened guys. i’m sure you all will get in somewhere and even if you don’t, staying back a year is not that bad. it can be pretty great. america is overrated anyway. its always about what you do with yourself, wherever you go. good luck!

@henry42 and others
taking a one year gap would give solace to the heart but i don think its good idea.Better to go USA with full scholarship to any safety colleges and transfer after a semester or two.
Also USEF counselor suggest “not to wait for 2010 " since the visa procedures and policies of USA for granting visas to int’l students may be difficult.”

Just think, that Barack Obama Administration won’t be able to solve the crisis by the end of 2010 even the task goes on so so rapidly.So, i wont opt for staying next year.

Anyway gud luck man!!!

@gramblingscholar
U wud get into the best college- i know the Amherst itself.But i don think waiting a year would give you any advantage -at least for you who has nothing to improve on scores.

@almighty
thanks for the PM but how to tell them its the letter to appeal? I mean in the subject of the letter, should i write “letter to appeal” or what? Yo chito lekhera PM gar ta. Or write a sample letter for me. I will write the letter for a college.

i disagree. spending a lot of money on some safety college isn’t the best option. in fact, its a stupid choice that lands up a lot of people in debts. if you have a full scholarship, i suggest you take it, but if you have to pay a lot at a safety, i would suggest you stay back.

standardized testing has lost its validity. colleges are becoming smarter. they don’t look at SAT scores as much as they used to. now its more about your essay, how well you grasp things and then your ability to express ideas, and also your recommendations and extra-curricular activities.

if you stay back a year, work hard. do something productive. a guy i used to know took a year off, worked hard on his year off, traveled a lot in nepal and india, and made the best of things. he got a full scholarship in one and other great deals in other great schools. its just that you need to do something worthwhile.

@henry42:
you said , ‘@grambling
i ve heard a lot of best of luck but thanks for it. But now more than ever, i want someone to slap me and blurt out that i dont deserve it . That would make my day.’

why the hell are you thinking like that? you have awesome credentials and you deserve an awesome college as much as anyone. the only reason you have been getting rejections is because of this stupid ‘tufts syndrome’. but don’t lose hope yet, you still have some great colleges left.

Nobody has update??

University of Chicago decisions are out…anyone applied there???

Duke decisions are on march 26 after 6:00pm
