Class of 2014 From Nepal

so, what to do? After avg financial aid it comes to be 10 k or less as i found…is it like it’s not same for us international students.

@skox…you ask very difficult questions… :)

@skox

the choice is straight: either you pay mucho amount, or you kick XITs [w/o aid] out of the list

finally ; happy to see u guys…
i made my mind…iit is kicked …and it’s above the bar :smiley: :smiley:
how many are up for trincoll ed2?

lol…

dunno about ED2 Trincoll, but I guess lots of RDers… hehe

im here for trinity ed2…although they’ve taken 3 nepali’s this year already, lets hope they have room for some more!.. :-)

n finally…after 8 hours of agonizing over the bennington supplement, im done!!!

^^me too…those supplement topics are CRAEZEE!

Hey… how can we fill FAFSA… it asks for social security number… is there any fee waiver kind of thing for FAFSA too…

FAFSA is for us citizens only. thats why it asks for SSN. did your college ask you to fill it out? try n explain your status as an international student. hope it works.

I just found out that of the 15 colleges I’m applying to, 11 of them require the Collegeboard CSS Profile. The fee for the initial application and one college or program report is $25. Additional reports cost $16 each. That means the total amount required to submit the Financial aid application to all the 11 colleges is $25+$16*10=** $185 /b.

And the sad part is that I am sure to be rejected by more that half of the schools that I’ve applied to.

Did any one of you, who have already filed the Profile, get a waiver??

^^

I mailed the colleges asking if they accept the ISFAA instead of the Profile…
Lafayette did. Awaitng reply from Dartmouth and Duke.

And although TrinColl says Profile, they will accept the ISFAA.

You need to nag them a bit; they’ll give in :stuck_out_tongue: [other colgs]

@*400#: Those fee-waivers are not for us international students; we do not fall under the “eligible non-citizens” category.

hey, I’m back! How’ve you guys been doing?

@sarbaraj101: d’mouth waived the CSS (though i’m not applying); duke didn’t… what about other colleges? any ideas? i’m tried of mailing them all…

no idea bro… the ones I have posted are all I know…
oh ya, Stan. abhushan got to submit ISFAA, but I had to submit profile…

Good to hear abt Dartmouth. Now duke, lets see what happens… not submitting the Profile no matter what.

Hey is there any coll with jan 15 deadline that requires materials to reach by then? Please let me know ASAP.

As for CSS, most colleges accept ISFAA in lieu of it coz this thing started from this year. Most Uni’s don’t accept CSS but when I asked them for a paper form of CSS, they sent me ISFAA…So I guess they accept them too. Duke, I dun think, they’ll accept ISFAA…although I am not applying there…

Many on my list require online submission of score reports…Now I am heading for some financial hiccups…4 tests…TOEFL, SAT, SATII, ACT!!! multiplied by $9 multiplied by no of colls. I am talking about those besides the free ones.

^^ why don’t u tell ur GC to mail the attested online scores… most LACs… (can’t be so sure of unis) accept them… else… u can request ur GC to email the attested/scanned online scores… paying can be used as the last option…

btw… guess what just happened… :p… i emailed the regional director of my EA college stating my interest and asking her when the results are going to be out… and she was like… “o if you’r so interested why don’t chage your EA to ED2”… ha ha… awkward!!

haha. thats funny.

we intl students submitted that ISFAA and certification of finances of collegeboard. i had a friend who was US citizen. he was the only one who had to submit FAFSA and CSS profile.
