mean and too prejudiced!
:p

@ Schofield

That’s the thing that torments me too. Like our counselor says, you may have straight "A"s, 2400 SAT, 2400 SAT IIs Comp., but still you can get rejected from the Top Tier 1 colleges.

And yes. my college list is not final yet. But I am applying this year.

Ajja K bhannu… a guy with 1700 SAT got in Gettysburg but one with 2120 SAT did not. ECAs do matter. Community Services, initiative actions, etc. and then, there’s the (arguably) most important thing: The College Essay (+ The supplement, and SAQ responses at the CommonApp), which one needs to tackle with a great efficiency.

@Schofield: male chauvinist…
:p

^^
Sabai jana ustai hudainan dear…there are always exceptions…hope u get what i mean.

@sarabaaj…
u seem to know a lot… and are a bright student…

@all

what if we never wrote an expository wirting… what do we do if the colleges ask for it… do we tell we never wrote it or what…

hey and everyone check this out… its really helpful but its not very reliable… there are some mistakes… and finally the college site is the best… if u want indepth information…

@schofield,
is the fact about the girl who got into d.mouth from ib really true?? did she really fail in those two subjs?
if so, thattts ridiculous!!!

Okay. That makes sense. But, I assumed that you were talking about UW GPA since that’s the GPA we’re always mentioning out here on this forum. Also, tell me something, if as you admitted that
[quote]
the syllabus is good/quote then why is it that one A-level subject “is equivalent to 2 yrs. of High School subj + AP/Honors in that subj” but one +2 subject isn’t? There is only one explanation for that and it’s the fact that A-level is more recognized(rather than more rigorous or tougher) and this is exactly what I’ve been saying from my very first post. And I’m certain that if the universities go through the trouble of evaluating +2 courses then 1 +2 subject would also be worth just as much as an A-level subject, if not more.
All in all, +2 students could also get a Weighted GPA of more than 4 if someone actually went through the trouble of properly evaluating it.

After studying in a +2 institution for 2 years I’ve come to the understanding that the ones who usually struggle in grade 11 & 12 are the ones who try to mug up everything rather than understand the topics.
Let’s take Physics for instance. The numerical questions,which even you might agree that no one can mug up, are worth around 25% of the total marks, and the short questions that require deep understanding of the topic are worth another 32% of the total marks. So, if a student were to only mug up and not understand then he/she should not even be able to pass a Physics test, let alone score high marks.
Don’t tell me that A-level students jump into the test without even knowing what might be tested or without even looking at past question papers.
Does everyone score an A in their English course? If yes, then I retract what I said earlier. And also let’s not make any generalizations of A-level students with only BNKS or RBS students in mind. Because when you look at the vast majority of A-level students outside these schools then you realize how “good” their English skills really are.

The affordable/not affordable point was to provide a possible explanation as to why you might consider +2 students to have poorer writing/understanding/speaking skills in English as compared to the A-level students.

@ kyabaal

Why F&M…there’s one girl for it…let’s leave that to her.

@ glimpse

ED napaye (hopefully yesto nahos), RD ma F&M jane ho…

Now CC seems to be indundated with too much intellengsia and jargon. Be considerate for others as well… i mean for the layman.

@ schofield

UWC lai aid diye pani LSE le kun chahi offer garcha…merit ki need?

The fact is LSE has quota for UWC students, and others are not eligible for that full tuition. And, i think the aid is need based. I dont know anything else.

@kyabaal
Khoi i read that in our alumni website, got it right which site? And i asked some 7 batch dais…they told me its correct.

Oe jhyaple, ta kata hanna lako ho ED? Bhan ta tero final choice.

@jhyaple
- fist of… there’s no such word as “indundated”, i believe it’s “inundated” u mean here… and secondly it’s not “intellengsia” the word here would be “intelligentsia”.
- it’s good that tht CC is full of “intelligentsia”, infact we laymens should be considerate for the seniors and elite people who have been of great help.

@ccprofile
agreed.
which +2 did you go to?? could you PM me??

@everyone
guys, ur posts have been of great help to me to enlighten myself about the college stuffs, and thank you seniors for ur help… really appreciate it…

ok
Firstly,
what’s LSE?
Secondly,
Guys, the debate over which is better ( A level or +2 ) is not fruitful here. Really. let’s leave that to the adcoms.
Thirdly,
Yes a lot of “intelligentsia” here…Didn’t get what LSE was…lol!!!
Fourthly,
