OMG OMG OMG. Did anyone get the UChi “Top 10 reasons to apply EA” email??? It was so adorable I almost swooned! And then kissed the computer!!! And then shrieked!!!

(I said almost.)

wanders off to the Chicago EA thread to shriek and swoon with people who will do the same and not stare at me like I’m insane

Do you mean the ED vs EA thing?

No no. Wait, I’ll copy-paste it here:

If you are planning to apply Early Action this e-mail is a gentle reminder that UChicago’s EA Deadline is November 2nd, 2009.

Our tour guides created this “Top Ten List,” to hopefully ease any stress the college search process may be causing:

Top Ten Reasons You Should Turn In Your Early Action Application on Sunday

Dean Nondorf wants You! To apply to the University of Chicago.

Winter will be SO MUCH WARMER, comparatively. To January 20, 1985.

You can’t get into college if you don’t apply!

Turning in a college application is a time honored All Saint’s Day tradition.

Procrastinating is only cool and fun once you’re in college.

You are one step closer to winning a Nobel Prize! Or at least closer to people who have won the Nobel Prize.

If you turn in your application early, Jon and Kate will a) get back together or b) stay divorced. Choose your own adventure!

Every time an Early Action application is sent in, a fairy gets its wings.

9.That Hogwarts letter isn’t coming. This is the next best thing.

You send us an application, we send you cookies. (Note: The University of Chicago cannot guarantee the delivery of any and all baked goods to applicants.)

Best,
Office of College Admissions

It’s really quite cheesy, but in a totally lovable way.

^lol
That’s such a cool e-mail. It makes me want to apply to UChicago.

ccp, i know ur gonna apply there for cookies. :p

Apply apply APPLY!!! Everybody!!!

I’ll give y’all cookies for it even if they don’t!!!

Aww. That is cute.

No UChicago for me, unfortunately.

ahhaha, im applying to uchicago, even though their aid to internationals is pretty much nonexistent. you cant know till you try, ey?
besides, i LOVE their supplement questions. i was debating between applying to umich and uchicago, but you can FEEL the creative/playfulness in their supplement. =]

Yeah! Comparing UMich and UChicago is like comparing plain white rice with a pizza that has olives, jalapenos, bacon, chicken, extra cheese, mushrooms, and really crunchy bread.

No cookies for you tetris! (Unfortunately. :p)

Unfortunately.

Well, the core would just be too much for me to handle. Bah.

Is this true? I was under the impression that their int aid was pretty good.

really? iunno, i was thinking in terms of need-blindness, i mean, im a full-need international, pretty much, so its tougher for me?
im applying to need-blind schools for most part, chicago is one of my two non-need-blind schools…

No, Chicago is pretty stingy when it comes to aid for internationals.

It gave enough-aid-to-go to 43 internationals last year. More than Duke gave. It did give some FA to a few more internationals (Chi) but not full.
