Duke is just zonky.

@Qasi
That’s comforting.

@sora2712
I need lot of aid too. Which need-blind schools are you applying to? Aren’t there only like half a dozen schools need-blind to internationals?

HYPM, Amherst, Dartmouth, Williams.

Middlebury has a pretty good FA policy for internationals too.

Lol, zonky?!

Lol. Yeah. Zonky.

ROFL. woman, i LOVE it, im including that in my ‘most expressive words list’.
zonky. ahahahhaaha.
yup, only HYP, New York - Abu Dhabi, and Amherst that I know of.
the Dartmouth ‘need-blind’ policy is actually a bit dodgy, i read somewhere, its more like ‘need-aware’ or sth, i forget where i read it though. middlebury USED to be need-blind till recently. curse ye, curse ye GFC.
@bilguun: im applying to all above listed minus harvard, and chicago and stanford… what about you? =]

I’m flattered, m’lady :p

guys help me out here… I need a list of engineering colls that have ED2!! ther’s gonna be a clash… so… need this ASAP…

OK well what to say. Vassar is LOVELY. Kind of in the middle of nowhere but the campus is very cute and pretty and the people there were really nice.

Yale was awesome, I can’t even put into words just how awesome. I met up with the professors as planned and they arranged for some students to take me out for coffee, and I got to see inside one of the residential colleges and it was just amazing.

Brown was soooooo greeeaaat! I was actually really pleased I went to visit Brown because I went on a campus tour and fell in love with it. Brown became my second choice after that visit. But then Princeton knocked it down into 3rd, but it’s still close.

So yeah. Princeton. OMG. Just. So. Beautiful. The campus is absolutely gorgeous. That’s all I can really say because I was literally gobsmacked at how amazing the campus is. I felt genuinely sad to leave.

Harvard… hmm. I like Harvard. Of all the courses of the major I want to do, Harvard has the BEST. Boston was very cool. But I didn’t get quite the same vibe from the school as I did from Yale, Princeton or Brown. There were a million tourists there as well, it almost didn’t feel like a college. Still good though. And I would still be very very happy to go there.

AND I SUBMITTED MY YALE APPLICATION YESTERDAY ZOMG!!!

My SAT score is NOT GOOD though. So I’m just keeping my fingers crossed, really.

Did everyone get their ED/EA apps sorted?

Happy belated birthday, Tetris, I’m so sorry I missed it!

Going to see Green Day now YAAAAY!!!

guys it doesn’t have to be eng coll… it can be LAC with engineering too kk??

Swarthmore has engineering. Not sure if it has ED2 though.

Oh, and ninja - AWESOME! I’m so glad your trip went off well and solidified Yale as your first choice. Glad you liked Pton, haha - cause tetris didn’t like it and the fact that someone else who visited DID balances it and makes me feel better about applying. Too bad you didn’t visit Amherst, but hey.

D’you have pics? Put em up on FB if you have, and can, and want to.

more i need more of those cools name… guys HELP!!

^^#4171- it has both…
btw I need a list of colleges accepting ISFAA instead of CSS.Anyone willing to help!:)

Hey, I didn’t even visit Pton! How could I have not liked it! It’s on my RD list, though.

I just got back from the US (school trip), and had the chance to finally
visit some schools (when the others went shopping…). I visited
Harvard, Columbia, Amherst (and UMass Amherst, but I am not applying there)!
I loved all of them. And the New England fall of course! I have pretty nice Harvard and Columbia
pictures, no Amherst unfortunately, because I had forgotten to charge my camera.

At all four, people asked me for directions, thinking I was a student. That was pretty brilliant.

Guys, this may interest you: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/802256-list-good-schools-have-fast-ez-apps-no-essays-no-recs.html

Aw Guilty, too bad you didn’t get pics of Amherst.
Glad you had a good time though!

Haha tetris, I’ve got that thread on my faves. I’m gonna apply to a couple, like, tonight. Oh, and you didn’t visit Pton but you visited Williams and said you were gonna rule out Pton cause you’d just discovered a distaste for ‘bucolic locations’ or something. You just put it back on your RD list recently remember?

Yeah, such a shame… Anyhow, I noticed you are applying ED to Amherst! Good luck!
I don’t know if you’ve visited, but it is an amazing place! The dorms are great, the town of Amherst is really nice and of course the surroundings nature-wise…

Good luck!

Did any of you guys participate in the International Amherst Chat btw?

@Quasi: Haha YES. It’s scary that you can quote me on stuff that I hardly remember :p. I later realized that Princeton, NJ != Williamstown, MA. Sooo I decided to put it back on my RD list.

@Guilty: The dorm that I saw at Amherst was swoon-worthy. And yeah, both Quasi and I were on that super duper crowded chat :)
