Class of 2014!

Freakishly-young-ness is SO LAST WEEK!

congratz Tetris, on ur acceptance… waooo tht was a pretty fast acceptance… :)

Hey people I know I’m so freaking late, but I’ve been lurking for a while now and I feel like I totally know you people by now so I’m just gonna embrace that I’m a CC addict at this point.

@tetrisfan CONGRATS FOR UMICH. can i just say i’d be even more depressed if you didn’t get into brown that if I didnt? Lol. You love it so much.

Anyway I’m from Malaysia.

Ohhh, I’ll be going to the States in like a week. Its winter so Is it like freaking cold, those who visited? Remember, I come from a country thats like summer all year round so yeah. Damn I’m gonna be freezing my ass off.

Hey! And welcome! I know what you mean about weather shock. I’m not sure how I’m going to cope with those New England winters next year…I really hope I shall have to though! Haha.

LOL I know. Unless I get into Stanford (complete and utter longshot) I’m hoping for biting winters. WHere are all of you from anyway?

India. Pretty close to you guys. Do you live in KL? I’ve been there a couple of times. There and Genting Island, haha.

omg yeah. well pretty close anyway like half an hour away from there.

Oh and I just came back from Bangalore and Puttapurthi, which part of India are you from?

I’m from Kolkata, which is (don’t let anyone tell you otherwise) pretty much the coolest place in the country.

Haha right. But anyway, do you guys have A-Levels in India or is it 12th grade before US unis? Cause here its A-Levels/IB/etc

We have this thing called ISCs (or State Boards, depending on what kind of school you go to) that’s like A-Levels, I guess. It’s during 12th grade.

I am flattered, gapyearstudent! Here’s hoping that we both get in :). And thanks guys!

tetris - congrats! Must be an awesome feeling!

It is, it is, it is :). Thank you.

tetris, can I talk to you now?

Yeah! Gtalk?

Tetris, when you get into Brown and if I don’t get in anywhere, can I have your place at UMich?

GUYS. I’m freaking out. I spoke to my team leader and she’s lovely and went to the personnel department and asked what they could do, apparently the most they can do is MAYBE let me go at 7 tomorrow instead of 9. But I won’t find out until tomorrow. And I’m on the verge of tears. It’s not just that I need to study, it’s that being here is stressing me out that I’m not even doing my job properly. Every time someone calls me I have to try not to cry. I want to just go to them and say “I’m going home” but it’s SO busy and I’d be completely screwing everyone over if I just left or didn’t come in tomorrow. But I feel like I don’t have a choice…

I did so badly on the SAT I, I NEED to do well on the subject tests :(

Oh, ninja. I’m sorry. :frowning: Today’s a horrible sucky awful day and deserves to die. But…you’re gonna retake the SAT right? You’ll do better then. And…if you don’t do brilliantly on the subject tests, can you retake those too? Or push back the date? Is there any way you can do that? Oh, but you’re applying SCEA. Hmmm. Look, just take the tests. They might turn out well. And if they don’t, you could switch your app to RD and take some more time right?

IT’S GONNA BE OKAY!!!

how bad did you do?

I got 1890. And I applied SCEA to Yale. Ouch. I’m resitting in January though.

And I just had a major anxiety attack. The glands in my neck started hurting, then my mouth started tingling, and the tingling sensation went right over my face and down to my hands and legs and I wasn’t able to put my hands down flat on the table because of a weird nerve thing making them fixed in a weird position. It’s mostly passed now, but that was pretty scary.

I’m actually just thinking of cancelling my SAT subjects this week and doing them all next month. Although that doesn’t leave ANY room for retaking them. But then I’d have to go back on my SCEA and I love Yale so much. And then I’d have to pay extra for applying EVERYWHERE in December.

What do you think? I need advice.
