<p>Great schools!! Are you from england(grade A and B). I know Uchicago is an excellent school academically, I heard that socially, it’s completely dead. Not like, if you want to have fun you can find it, but there is actually no party scene. Fisk guide to colleges quote: “from time to time you hear tht the students at Uchic are finally loosening up, don’t believe this”</p>
<p>Yeah I have applied to schools in the UK as well! I have applied Oxford, York, Warwick, LSE and UCL, only heard from 3 so far (interview at Magdalen, Oxford, but no offer, offer from York and a sort of offer from UCL). Nice list you have there! I have applied to Oberlin as well! 
I did send them my subject scores (740 and 710), but A-levels are harder anyways I think, right?! 
If you have good regular SAT scores, they might offset the lower SAT II scores!</p>
<p>… And possibly also good ECs? I have pretty bad SAT I scores (690, 690,660) and not too good SATIIs, so I also hope SATs aren’t everything! What are your A-levels like? AA(A)B?</p>

<p>Portugese ninja, school results most of the time weigh more or at least the same as sats! So do not worry! They look at everything, not just sats!</p>

<p>Your SATs are much better; my SAT IIs: (at least:) 710 Lit, 740 World History; Bio still pending. (And of course the Latin one, but only one of my schools has that one)</p>

<p>Yeah, of course only my top school has my dramatic score! XD But I called them to tell it was a bubbling error, and they said it was fine and they would look at the highest three, so whatever (and I actually have a lot of latin academic ish things so I guess it is pretty clear I can do better than that). At least they know that I haven’t used score choice on my SATs then… I guess our SATs are fine… </p>
<p>World History was pretty easy, and I did the AP too, so for that one I studied like all the chinese dynasties etc. It was completely different than at school!</p>

<p>My SAT I is 580/610/700, SAT II 510/620 and A Levels BBD. So not great all around. But my strength lies in my essay writing and I’m a bit older than regular high school age so I’m trying to play the “life experience card”. And yep I’m from the UK All your scores are so impressive, good job y’all!</p>
<p>As for there being NO party scene at UChicago, I find it hard to believe that any place with thousands of teenagers could not have ANY party scene at all. But it’s an amazing school so I don’t care too much about that stuff anyway.</p>

<p>Portuguese: ooh well… What are your ECs like? My scores aren’t too good I’m afraid, but in the range! And you also have some less-selective schools on your list right! And Chicago doesn’t care about grades as much as the other topschools do! Can’t you retake some of your A levels?</p>

<p>Nah I can’t retake my A Levels, I did them 5 years ago. My ECs are good. GB - your scores ARE good. Do not let the crazy CCers make you believe they’re not good, because they really are, you’re a very competitive applicant!</p>
<p>yeah 5 more, but most in courses I already took in school, so it isn’t completely new! The APs are pretty fun, that is why I took them… not necessarily for my apps… Turned out later on that they were actually sort of impressive XD Well, I’ll see what happens!</p>
