Class of 2014!

All that’s needed is a little lurve.(what happened to this word, tetris)

It faded away…

what does ‘lurve’ mean ?

I just woke up from an amazing lay-in of twelve hours :D. Haven’t slept more than 5 hours this whole week (finals session, think I did really really badly because I kind of was really sick, hope it’ll be at least good enough to let me pass :().

It’s just another way to say ‘love’

okay  (hum… it’s not the kind of word you would use in an essay, right ?)

Oh absolutely not

Hey. A non-Indian makes an appearance. :D

Why are we classifying the Nepalis as Indians!?

Because ccprofile spends more time on TiT than we do.

Perhaps we should offer people the right to self-determination.

Everyone can become an Indian then :D

Well, you do need someone to keep the thread alive, don’t you? ;)

Hehehe nice one :D

To speak of college-related once again:

Do you guys think it would be weird if I wrote my CommonApp EC essay on how much time I’ve spent learning Russian, reading Russian lit, learning about Russian customs and Russian history, etc? I know it’s not very ** official ** as an EC, but it’s a huge interest of mine and I’ll probably take a lot of Russia-related classes in college.

Or would it be better to write about theatre as I originally intended?

Why don’t you write about both and see which one turns out better?

But isn’t it completely out-there? I mean, can it even be classified as an EC?

I think the Russian thing fits the groove of the Stanford intellectual vitality essay more than this one.

Hey whats the word-limit for common app essays. It says minimum 250 but does that mean we can jump beyond 1000.

Generally, you should try keep it to 800 max.

But then I have seen many students cross 900 and still get into elite institutions…

You have to have a very compelling essay to keep the reader engaged past 900 words.

My essay’s between 550 and 600 words right now, and I’m going to stick to that length for the rest of my essays as well.
