Class of 2016 from Nepal

The future classes can make use of the convenient search bar, where they can search threads or posts. That’s why it’s important to search about an issue before asking the question. It may already have been answered. Why re-invent the wheel?

I had applied last yr and I was even accepted in a good college but due to limited financial aid received, I could not afford to get enrolled. I am applying to some colleges this year too. I would be very thankful if someone could tell me what are the EXTRA documents I need to prepare? Do I need to write new essay?

@changemaker I had also applied last year( Before highschool graduation) but reached till defer but couldnot get desired college. I think if your essay is good and if you think last time you could not get in because of other reasons and not because of your essay then no need to change it. otherwise change it.

hello everyone…i am new to this discussion forum…i would post my queries in my new upcoming threads…plz help me with my doubts…

@Diwash: thanks myan! Good luck with your application.

Help: I had taken TOEFL last yr and got jsut 91. However, most colleges ask for 100 (minimum score). I mailed to a college Adcom and she replied:“Student scoring below 100 are generally not competitive within our applicant pool.”

What do you guys suggest me to do now? Shall i take TOEFL again? OMG! it’s too expensive.

91 in TOEFL is gross.

@changemakers
You should definitely take the TOEFL once again. Prepare well for it, and try to score above 110.

Please create a new thread from the next time you have a question. Thank you.

@sarbaraj101: thank you for the suggestion :slight_smile: Isn’t there any way to get the TOEFL waived?

Sorry, I don’t know how to create a new thread. Help will be deeply appreciated :)

yes there is. Some colleges use SAT CR (the most extreme I have seen is Cornell, with 670+; Grinnell has 550+ I think), and some waive it if you have studied in an English medium institution for a set number of years.

to create a new thread in the Nepal sub-board,

go here: [Nepal - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/nepal/)

and click the new thread button. (It is to the right of “Discussion Menu”, which is below “My Control Panel”)
