Class of 2017 -- Celebrate, Vent, Discuss, etc.

@ Actingdad So happy to see your D’s decision over on the final decision thread:))) I am sure she is going to have a fabulous 4 years there. My S’s HS drama teacher is gaga over that school, and is insisting my S apply. We have had a few kids from our HS go there and she has gone to see them in some productions and she can not say enough about the quality of the shows and the amazing faculty there. And… don’t worry about what you are going to do with your life now… you are going to help me next year of course:)

We’re celebrating today! My D has been notified that she’s invited into the the U of Minnesota Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program. Now that’s a mouthful! We’re ecstatic! She came off the wait list.

Congrat’s!!! That is awesome!

Just wonderful Resrchmom!!! What a great program, at a great price, in a great city!!! Congratulations to your D!!!

Researchmom, congrats!! How awesome to get off the waitlist so early! I know that was your d’s number 1 choice, too, which makes it all the better!

Congrats Researchmom! I know she was hoping for that news!!

Congrats, ResrchMom! Great news!!!

Thanks for all of the good wishes everyone! It doesn’t feel quite real yet today. Maybe it will tomorrow or the next day? Or maybe not til she’s at orientation?

That’s fantastic. What a great program.

So happy for you ResrchMom!!!

Researchmom so happy to hear of this great news for your D
restores a bit of faith in the process.
Enjoy the celebration that sometimes dreams do come true!

Researchmom, great news! Big congrats to your D!

It’s Otterbein! She is thrilled, and I believe the program is a great fit for her. :)

Congrats!!!  :)

I’m thrilled too, but I want to know more, UgaDog!!! What were the deciding factors? It sounds like she has a wonderful 4 years ahead.

We went back to Otterbein a couple of weeks ago just to let her see it again. She really just “felt” it was a great place for her. We like the warmth and welcoming atmosphere. She is impressed with the facilities and faculty. Of course, for us the no math is a huge, huge positive. She loved the look of the campus, and Westerville reminds us both very much of home. It also helps that the brother and sister in law of a very, very close friend of ours lives in Columbus.

Yea!!! And she can hang out with Times3’s awesome offspring!

Congrats ugadog99!!!

Everyone is choosing their new drama homes. It’s fun to hear your news Ugadog! It’s been quite the journey. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes to my D. She had more good news this week from the school–she was awarded a BFA scholarship at the U of Minnesota/Guthrie, too!

Note to GwenFairfax: ugadog’s D learned that one of Otterbein’s shows this year will be “The Importance of Being Earnest”… She and my S will almost be crewing for it, so we’ll have to let you know how the crucial role of Gwendolyn is played! ;)

Marbleheader, wish I could “like” your post–CC really needs to add the little thumbs-up button…
