<p>You need to have the common app and the uchicago supplement in by Nov. 1st but they won’t penalize you for having supplemental materials in a few days late (recs, test scores, etc.)</p>

<p>Someone posted on the Q & A thread that they contacted UChicago by phone and confirmed that the Nov. 9th deadline only applies to those directly affected by the storm. I do not know the validity of this statement, so I would check with the Office of Admissions.</p>
<p>At this point I think everyone has gotten a different message… I have 2 emails saying otherwise, and I just found this on UChicago Admissions’ facebook:</p>
<p>“Yes! It will be pushed back: Due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy we are extending the Early Action deadline past November 1st. We ask that you complete your application during the week of November 5th. All application materials are expected to be submitted by 5 p.m. Central Time on Friday, November 9th.”</p>
<p>“I was wondering if this extension would only include those adversely affected or if it encompasses everyone. Thanks!”</p>
<p>“There is no way to really determine who is sending in an application that was truly affected by the storm. Therefore, it generally applies to everyone, but please do not use the storm as an excuse to procrastinate your submission.”</p>
<p>If you want to see it yourself go to the “UChicago PSAC” page, under “Posts by Others” and it’s on Annie Chen’s post from Oct. 28.</p>

<p>^The website says “Mid-December.” Last year results were out around the 19th; this year I’d expect them to be released around the same time somewhere in the week of the 17th - 21st.</p>
