Class of 2018 (yikes!) - Sharing,Venting, Etc

I know exactly what you mean this is the hardest part which surprises me thought the auditions were stressful. I hope when we visit the sxhools again he gets a clear decision that he can be sure of. Good luck to her!!

I know the visit once accepted sealed it for my D. Getting to attend classes all day, meet and talk with professors and hang out with the other theatre students was invaluable

dramamom, you might want to PM MichaelNKat if you’d like to get the perspective of a grad. His D attended UArts and they are from Philadelphia. You might even be able to put your D in touch with his.

Dramamom, thank you for the summary. We couldn’t attend yesterday, but we are visiting April 14. It is my D’s only MT acceptance, so she is seriously considering UArts, sight unseen. Hopefully she will know if it’s the right place for her.

Rider: S was MT student for a day at Rider today. I do believe Robin Lewis and Mariann Cook sealed the deal! S We were there from 10am until 9:00pm, incredible program. They had a casting agent from Tara Rubin today listening and teaching the seniors. S took a dance class with Robin, Wow!. They immediately embraced my son and took him in like family. Mom & Dad who???. I always hoped when others wrote about “FIT” and knowing when its right that would happen for us. My S said it felt like home today.

That is great MTorBust. What a great feeling for you as parents!

So glad it went so well.

Thank You

But what if both your choices feel like “home”? Wail…

@PondsK8r that is exactly what I am afraid of as we are heading back to two of them.

We are having a hard time deciding, because we really love both schools, but one is a big (expensive) name, and the other is…not. How can we possibly compare chalk with cheese?

If you really love both schools, I would go with the less expensive one.

Don’t be swayed by a name. Only go there if its a true fit.

:)) chalk with cheese.

I know LOL I thought the same thing when I read the chalk with cheese.

You have two great choices there @NewYorkSon. I see the waitlisted one is always an amazing program. Hoping you get to wrap this thing up soon.

Me too @ MTorBust but I have a feeling he is going to feel at home at both places and the call will be tough. Financially we are looking at about the same at this point with scholarships and stuff so just two different places smaller, rural college town or big city.

Sorry I have to vent. I am feeling super stressed right now. We are going back to two schools which I think is important one being NYU OMG the cost to just go there for a quick 2 day trip. How the heck can we go to these schools twice and then pay all this tuition. Ok feel better!!

Just did the second visit whirlwind, two schools in three days. Paid for plane tickets, hotel, car…My Amex is getting a workout. Hope it all fits in place for you soon NewYorkSon. Im here in the city area if you need any info.

Thanks MTorBust. I knew we would be traveling again just gets s bit overwhelming all the expense especially with both his choices the most expensive and third most expensive. I know it will all work out.
