Does anyone know if the student did NOT select to be part of the student information service on the SAT/PSAT if colleges get their name as a NMSF? Just wondering…
@Reebtoor - I wonder that as well. I hear people talking about already receiving info from NMF schools and we have had crickets over here. I do know S19 chose not include his information. We already have NMF schools targeted so I guess it doesn’t matter…
@Reebtoor @mountainmomof3 I selected to not opt-in to the Student Search Service and was told I am a semifinalist. In order for PSAT scores to not be sent to NMSC, you have to write and mail a physical letter to the College Board by November 15th.

Does anyone know what the number beside the name mean? There are multiple names with 000 and 00 but then some people have other numbers beside their names.
That is a code for their choice of college major.
@kimclan1 I meant getting contacted by colleges with big NMF packages with regards to their scholarship offerings. S19 was notified by school of his status as NMSF.
Anyone have a link to the Texas NMSF names?
@kimclan1 What moutnainmomof3 said. We have the official NMSF paperwork & used a free score report to send NMSC SAT scores & such already. What I’m wondering is if colleges will get D19’s name/info as a NMSF since she’s opted out of the CB’s student information-sending racket.
71 from 1 single HS! That’s about 10% from the whole state from the same school.
@Reebtoor Ah I misread your question. I have not been contacted by any colleges specifically about National Merit, but I would imagine NMSC sends your information to universities after you complete the online application.

Wow - 71 in a class of 350 is really impressive! Meanwhile, my son finally heard at the end of last period today! Phew! That seemed like a really long wait. He was the only one in a class of 231.
So. School is over, and we are out the next 2 days for our unwanted guest, that pesky Florence. No notifications at DS’s school today. Haven’t seen anything from the county. I know they are busy, but I was still hoping…
Does anyone know about South Carolina’s cutoff? I know CompassPrep “confirmed” it at 216, but as a 217 scorer I’m still wary that I made it in the event that it isn’t 216. Haven’t seen any lists of SC SF’s either unless any of you have.
