oh and I’m hoping that the second wave only consists of acceptances but then there’s going to be soooo many reject/waitlists this year and I don’t think they’ve done all of them yet

I got rejected from all schools so far that I’ve applied to, and I know how you feel. Or don’t. Since you were probably accepted to a school or two lol

@themaninthechair That sounds racist but it’s kind of true… I’ve seen some of the “admissions officers confess” posts on the internet and I heard they reject qualified applicants to make room for minorities. Well, they sure do reject a lot of asians (I’m one of them). I thought not marking my race on my application would help, but I guess my last name was kind of way too obvious and gave it away. Sigh.

Edit: I still haven’t gotten any emails from NYU yet. Few people from my area have been rejected already.

They must be releasing acceptances after school regardless of region. I’m the only one in my school in VA not to have gotten an email; all the other applicants were rejected at either 1 am or 8 this morning…
@MawkishTREX It’s kind of sad. Asians are just expected to have higher scores on everything and have crazy good Extracurricular activities, like curing cancer or being the world’s top mathlete. I’m what they call “dumb asian”… College admissions are getting weird. I honestly pray for the kids next year because the competition’s going to be a LOT harsher than this year. It just gets worse every year…
@gamink348 I agree. Being of Asian decent myself, I can definitely understand your point of view. I currently go to High Tech High School (check the rankings) and the Asian pop is > 50% there. Very competitive.
But Stern’s demographics consists of 46% Asians lol

@hyperbole I’m not just talking about NYU though-- most colleges, especially those “top” colleges, reject a LOT of Asians. Most have good stats but they just get rejected. 
I don’t know. The colleges definitely have double standards for Asians when it comes to scores and GPA though. They deny it, but it’s so obvious. XD
Hey everyone, just figured I’d share this with you. A friend of mine who got in ED II seemed fairly certain that rejections come out from 2am to noon and that acceptances come out from 3pm to 5pm. Just something to keep in mind.
