Yeah I definitely wouldn’t bank on any portal changes as being indicators of admission, but I’m crossing my fingers.
On my page, it says my application for Housing has been started and I’m listed as “Freshman.”
Remember NYU’s housing is based off a lottery so if you have non renewable undergrad don’t think you got rejected! For now our only indictator is the FA change.
You guys are making me hopeless… Listed as a non-renewable and no FA change… Probably should just give up

@anonye my mistake it’s not a lottery. However go to page 28 of the forum and click on the link. We concluded that your housing status might have nothing to do with your admission status.
@collegeplease123 no don’t think like that! Not everyone received the change on the same day! The FA change might come later for you!
What if you have the housing status but no FA change? Haven’t the FA changes been fading in and out from day to day?
FA changes are irrelevant. Not everyone is guaranteed or even wants FA. But, every ADMITTED freshman is guaranteed housing.
@Leyland Somewhat hoping I disprove your theory…
My bet is those that are currently listed as Freshmen on the Housing page will get the FA changes throughout the week sporadically until Friday. Just my theory though. There have been strong correlations with both in the past, both on this page and from people I’ve talked to.
Only person one had their FA changed fade in and out. Also the housing change has been fading in and out with some others and on top of that there are students who have been accepted in ED that had their status as nonrenewable undergrad if I am not mistaken.
@collegeplease123 Don’t give up hope. There’s no way of knowing when they will be done finalizing decisions. Heck, you can check Friday morning and see you have both the Housing update and FA change.
However FA changes don’t apply for international students I believe
So, I guess I’m the only one with this unique situation… No FA or Housing change!
@collegeplease123 Also, it should be noted that two individuals on CC last year got the FA change and were denied admission.
@Yoshi24 I’ve heard the exact opposite. Individuals who were accepted ED were listed as Freshman undergrad for housing. This was confirmed by individuals from my school and others on this thread (I believe).

Lol, I’m OOS Georgia… applied for CS at CAS… I have pretty decent stats, but I never have any luck with FA changes in colleges… Idk anymore
Ummm the FA change was actually true prior to them fixing it. As of now, all bets are off because we don’t have conclusive results. I know waiting sucks, but in six days your NYU fate will be revealed. I wouldn’t waste my time stressing over housing changes and missing forms. Just chill.
