I had no notion of the “secret identity” when I made my user name - so I’m not hard to figure out at all! But that’s OK! I don’t post anything here I wouldn’t be comfortable saying to a school, or another parent, or a student. But, as @IfYouOnlyKnew states - we come from a very supportive community as well. Perhaps I’d have had a different approach if that were not the case. Pulling for all of the Class of 2019!!

My D was somehow able to keep her sanity and her sense of humor throughout this process. When we heard (on Twitter, FB, and CC) that Gary was making the CMU calls to accepted students, EVERY time the phone rang, D would pick it up and say, “Gary?!” It became quite the joke in our house, b/c she KNEW it was going to be a “no” from CMU (she didn’t get passed on to Barbara, and Kaf actually said to her, “Are you sure you don’t want to apply to VP instead?” ARGH.) Anyway, for MONTHS afterwards, she would say, “Gary?!” when the phone rang. And I still laughed. Lots of confused callers. Yes, I know, it’s silly and stupid, but being able to laugh at yourself DOES help. Keep your chins up, drink wine or something else alcoholic to relieve stress, but keep laughing. Really.

With regards to OU, don’t they have one more audition Friday? I know of at least two boys and two girls who received offers. I wonder how many of each gender they are taking this year? Anyone know?
I’m enjoying learning how everyone picked their name. I’m a very positive upbeat person and people constantly say I make raising a teenw e look easy. I’m always thinking… If you only knew.

I love Gary! I’m going to need it. My third daughter, a freshman, just told us she wants to pursue auditioned MT, too. We barely are surviving the first daughter’s process and the second one will go through it next year. I’m exhausted already! (Guess we’ll be old pros by then.)
