I know everyone is waiting on results (here too!) … but does anyone have any audition reviews/feedback/general knowledge on these two schools: Western Carolina & Northern Kentucky.
Anyone? I’ll take good or bad. Either here or private message, whichever you prefer!

@KaMaMmom, I have only heard positive things, regarding Northern Kentucky. There is a good deal of info spread out on different threads on CC. Put in “Northern Kentucky MT” in the search and it may help you.
@KaMaMom - we live across the river from NKU and have seen a few shows there. S has HS classmates in the freshman class MT. I spoke to the mom of one boy recently and she says he loves it. he feels like he is getting terrific training, he has had some roles in the musicals - including the fall one so early in his freshman year. We’ve heard nothing but good things about the faculty - there is some crossover with CCM, which is only 15 minutes away. The CCM, NKU and WSU kids are often cast together in area professional theater and the NKU a kids can certainly hold their own. The local PBS station (CET) ran a show on the NKU dance/theater department about a month ago. I didn’t see it but it is available with certain kinds of online streaming capabilities (for which I have no patience or aptitude, so will have to wait for the rerun).

NKU is very well liked and respected in the CIncy area! Very good program.
NKU is a program that has changed a lot in the past several years. There’s a mom here on CC whose D is a freshman there this year but I can’t for the life of me think of her username. I imagine you could find her if you do a search for NKU.

I know people at Western Carolina who absolutely love the program. One in particular has had the opportunity to be a big fish in a smaller pond. Terrence Mann and Charlotte D’Amboise are very involved in the program from directing and choreographing shows, to master classes.
Chapman is emailing tomorrow. I’m gonna throw up…

Makes me sad how programs try to “redirect” you within their department. Just say no and make it less painful!
But not all redirections are created equal. Many are “redirected” at CMU from MT to Acting and many accept that offer. There are just a few others in that category.
Speaking of CMU redirections @MTDadandProud has anyone checked to see a second option mysteriously added to their portal box under “where am I in the process”? This can be accessed by using your common app ID and birthdate.
@PsychDancer7352 Thanks for the American info. My D got an acceptance with no MT mention except the major on that page and was wondering the same thing!
