Class of 2019 (the journey begins) - Sharing,Venting, Etc

Dear (Schools who keep sending info after an artistic rejection)

We appreciate your interest in my daughter. This year there has been a larger than usual pool of schools trying to recruit for their general programs. I am sorry to say you do not meet her needs at the current time. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

(Ok, I feel better now)

Another day. Another “no news is good news”

To quote my daughter’s latest role she’s rehearsing for
The waiting, the waiting, the waiting!

@MTmamabear‌ - Yes, we felt like sending several of those letters last year. Very annoying when they do that.

@tramsmom My S “Where Am I in the Process” has always listed MTH first and ACT second. No change.

So Ball State Bill posted last night that they would finish all calls today. But no call here and no rejection email. I guess we call tomorrow and see what’s up. sigh

cherieb, us too still patiently waiting.

@MTDadandProud That’s interesting. I didnt look until maybe 2 weeks ago or so, and it only says MTH 1. No acting. Anyone else notice?

Reading tea leaves again.

Ours still has all 3 boxes: MTH, ACT and VCE. But i remember picking to be considered for all 3 back when we signed up.

I had no idea there was a third. And I thought you didnt get to pick. I thought they automatically assigned you wherever they wanted you to be.

Oh well, if what you say is true, probably just scuttled her .05% chance of an acting spot.

Probably cause most MT hopefuls wouldn’t consider vocal performance only.

Not to be crazy stupid here, but was the choice Acting/Musical theatre and then Voice. Or was it Acting and Musical Theatre and Voice, all separated in the choice categories? If you happen to recall. I sure don’t.

At CMU MTs are also considered for acting.

clearly I don’t remember.
hell, we’re still getting academic acceptances for schools I forgot we even applied for.

I think they were all separate. MT and acting both being in the theatre department. VP would have been in the music dept and we didn’t choose that because at CMU they don’t work together at all (unlike at Michigan, CCM or a few others).

That seems like years ago that we did that, so I could be wrong.

If I am remembering correctly, you could choose acting only, or MT- in which case you were automatically considered for acting as well. I don’t remember an “MT only” option.

That’s right, @toowonderful. Either straight acting or MT with acting consideration.

We are still waiting for anything at all from BSU also @DramaGolfMama‌ and @cherieb‌.

maybe no news from BSU is good news - could mean waitlist? My daughter got a rejection letter 2 weeks ago from her Chicago Unified audition. Those rejections are almost worst than waiting. Thankfully an acceptance came 2 days ago from her 1st choice so all is well now

Us too @dramagolfmama, @cherieb & @mamaoffive!
