For anyone who auditioned on campus at Point Park, was it a good experience?

I had the worst audition of my life yesterday! After college auditions I have been pretty confident and you’d think every audition after that would be a breeze. Wrong. First, I started in the wrong key, which was terrifying because I have never done that before, I restarted, and then my body started to shake, my vision began to fade and then right after my last note, I felt my blood pressure drop, so I dropped
 I don’t know how long I was out, but all I know is that they called for help and gave me food and water but CONTINUED AUDITIONS OVER MY INCAPACIATED BODY. I felt awful for my audition group and I apologized to everyone at the theatre
 I have auditioned for more than 30 producutions and this have never happened to me before
 After about an hour of laying on a couch in the lobby I asked if I could re-audition, they told me “you sounded great before you hit the floor! that’s all we need to see!” So yeah
 Probably didn’t book it. Super embarrassing, but I finally have an interesting audition story to tell!

@MTer1997‌ I’m sure it was humiliating in the moment, but I am very impressed with how you are picking yourself up and moving on with humor. I wouldn’t be surprised if whoever you were auditioning for saw that in you too.

Wow!! On the bright side- you may now have the story to outdo the kid who actually broke their leg at the dance call earlier this year

Wow, I thought having to make up a Shakespeare monologue was bad! That’s crazy and you’re a hero just for surviving.

@toowonderful
 foot. Broken foot. (5th metatarsal.)

:wink:

@MTer1997‌, I’m still laughing over “continued auditions over my incapacitated body.” You’re a trouper, and a funny writer too! Sorry about the fainting, but congratulations on your resilience and sense of humor!

Yesterday was a fabulous day. D received her artistic scholarship and honors scholarship from LIU Post. These are stackable, so in addition to her already generous scholarship. She will study in New York for less than the cost of an apartment, come out completely debt free, and use the money saved for additional training in the city. No classes on Friday.

@winnieroot this is exactly what happened with my daughter for Drew University
she will come out debt free and will be getting additional training with the money we saved on tuition. Congrats!!!

@winnieroot
No classes on Friday??? Wow. Congratulations to you and your daughter on the entire, wonderful package!

Thanks guys, I’d like to say we researched and planned, but really just some blind ass luck. (Better than no luck at all

I almost hate to bring this up. Were we wrong about CMU calls today? Surely CC didn’t get shut out?!!!

Check the school-specific forum for today’s chatter

Same with us, @winnieroot
 D got a huge academic scholarship at Molloy. The way we see it, she’s getting the same training that NYU Tisch got, but for half the price. She’s already talking MFA.

What does the red flame icon mean by the star on the title of a thread I am following? And a thumb tack? By my booked marked threads

@puma69 It means you are on fire. Roll around on the floor till it goes away.

^^That just made my day–no reflection on you, puma, I just needed a laugh! Thank you!

I always love it when I can be part of someone’s laughter, the cause, the subject of or the butt of
I clearly am not picky! Too funny
 ROFL

Neither the butt nor bearing the brunt, you were merely the spark. This has all gone on far too long.

Never long enough with you vocal1046. And tomorrow is Monday!
