@tmygirl Saturday. But we’re heading out right after school on Friday… we have Chorus Line tix for Friday night.

@MTmom2015 Jealous!! Have a blast! See you on the 15th!!

Can’t wait to read next week’s “audition day” thread!! BW, Coastal…any others? Oh, I think Ball State and OCU?

AW SHUCKS! It’s getting REAL real! Buckle up and enjoy the ride, folks!

Can anyone tell me if you have the schedule for Baldwin Wallace auditions this weekend? We obviously are not going this weekend, but am trying to figure out travel plans for February, and am wondering what time is check-in? Is it all day? or are there AM spots and PM spots?

Last year it was all day- not sure about this year

@jsr1900 all day… check in is @ 9 and there is a dance call in the late afternoon I think they said MT kids will be there until 6:30pm

^that sounds very similar to the schedule last year. It’s a full day… And they keep parents entertained pretty much throughout. You will not see much of your auditioner once the opening remarks are done.

@jsr1900 it is indeed a full day and, if parents so choose, can be a very informative one. Not all parents choose to stick around campus for the long day but, if they follow the format from last year, you can take part in a number of information sessions, check out videos from prior showcases, talk with parents of current MT students, tour campus and attend a session with current faculty.

Milliken has auditions this Friday also.

In my opinion - the best “parent” part of the day (although I stuck around and enjoyed it all!) was during the dance call - when they had parents of a CURRENT BWMT student do a Q&A session. That was fabulous - it immediately followed the Q&A with Vicky and Scott, which was also very valuable, - when they went down to watch the dance call. The lunch they fed us wasn’t too bad either… one of the few schools that feeds the parents of the auditioners! (Your MT auditioner will get a box lunch - elsewhere - not with you!)

Completely OT here, but do you think the committees involved in the selection process check out the kids’ social media? My kid doesn’t have anything to worry about there, but some of his peers… wow! Just a thought that buzzed through my head today…

On social media, better safe than sorry. Just as employers are using social media to decide whether to hire someone, I’m sure colleges are doing the same. It’s best not to post about all the applications and acceptances and top schools and such. And I don’t think you can ever be off topic in a “sharing, venting, etc.” thread! :)

@MTmom2015 - I would say definitely YES on that. Maybe not all schools, but some for sure. My D learned about this at TPAP (I think? maybe another summer intensive?). I can’t remember what workshop she attended, but it was addressed in depth at one of the summer intensives she has attended.

Quick question- has anyone here heard back from Elon’s prescreen yet? I want to submit my prescreen but my dance video is only 30 seconds! I know the website says 60 seconds but I was wondering if anyone’s gotten a Yes from Elon from a shorter dance video before I go and film another dance video. Thanks!

So great to meet @tmygirl and your H & S this past weekend! It WAS a wonderful distraction to chat with you all! I look forward to seeing a familiar face next weekend! @mtmom2015, all of us CC’ers will have to all meet up for coffee during the long audition day. @divamamacita we will miss you and your D please tell her to BAL on her last HS show. So bittersweet. @mtkellbell I’ll be looking forward to your audition day review for CCU! We will be there the end of January. BAL!

@attheballet Just call Elon and ask. Everyone wants you to succeed. They’ll steer you in the right direction.

I believe there was a handful of people who heard “yes!” from Texas last week … anyone heard anything since then?

Nope… not a word from TSU. But, at least one of the people who heard last week submitted over a week before my S did. No news is good news? Ugh. I feel like Fiona in Shrek… The waiting, the waiting, the waiting, the waiting… the waaaaaaaiiiiiiiting!!!

=D> oh, good one, @MTmom2015! Very apropos!
